Designing characters can be tough if you let your imagination run wild. You gotta reign yourself in and show a bit of self-control with this shit.I don't actually have any new progress for my own project outside of a roadmap for development. I'm gonna implement Brain Bandit's body snatching after I clean up this ability and refine it a bit, then rebuild the mutation screen so it isn't object oriented like it was in Wasteland Kings.
After that, I'm gonna implement Lil' Bandit, Tall Bandit, and the IDPD Trainee, then finish up Stage 1. I want to get the playable characters playable first.

Lil' Bandit

Designed to be an incredibly basic character. He was originally named "Mundane Bandit" in my design docs.
Tall Bandit

You can theoretically skirt death indefinitely with this guy. Debating how (and if) I wanna change that.

I wanted an excuse to add an IDPD character. This one is admittedly a bit more ambitious than the others, but behind Brain Bandit, is the one I've been wanting to implement the most since beginning this project. Because of the amount of effort I'm going to have to go through to add him, though, I'm putting him off until the end.
I've implemented Large Bandit to be functional at his base, and I'm going to do Brain Bandit next. While a character that's designed to rework the entire system might seem like the last one you would want to create, I already have his systems in place due to the fact that I had to revamp how the current system works entirely. Tall Bandit comes after that (I'm gonna get the character functioning while some of the more ambitious stuff I can add later), then Lil' Bandit (I might just add him in-between making the others since he's so simple), then the Trainee.
Also, have some bandit-themed mutation icons.

Slow-firing weapons abysmal in hardmode. You want shit that's able to put out enough damage consistently enough to get through the little maggots that 1-1 will throw at your face.
Bullet weapons are very strong starters due to sheer volume and that they won't be overkilling enemies so ammo doesn't get wasted. Assault Rifle is one of the best golden starts for hardmode for this reason.

Not intentionally. When I looked at the designs for IDPD for the first time, I saw a mixture of combat gear and hazard suits. The idea was to make trainees have suits that moreso resemble the hazard gear.They also have stupid lanyards/nametags, since they're just studentsAlso, the IDPD just boot them out into the wasteland for field training. Bait the beam, gun down the generators, when they're all done continue baiting beam. Pay more attention to the bullets and not the Throne, it's not like the Throne's going anywhere. Also, avoid hugging the walls, if you get too close to them the Throne becomes very upset and goes into berserk mode, which is just it spamming a shitton of giant orbs at you. Pretty sure they added this as a means to loop if the Throne walks past the generators (the giant orbs destroy walls on impact, so you can kinda dig a hole with them and walk around the Throne or something), not sure.
For Throne II, it's the same principle. Prioritize bullet positioning, not the Throne. It just circles the stage until it dies. If you lose sight of it while firing, that's okay, just continue dodging until it enters your sight again, don't panic looking for it. For one of its attacks it sends out green orbs that then fire straight lines of radiation; the hitboxes for this attack are pretty generous in regards to the player in that they're actually pretty small. I've had instances where I'm standing within what liiks to be a tiny triangle between the beams, and I was fine. Don't panic! Throne II is pretty easy.
Oh, a warning for Throne II: Vlambeer can't into programming and the stage for 0-1 almost goes on forever. This means that if you have something like a Blood Cannon, and you miss the Throne or you just graze it, the projectile's particles will still exist offscreen and will severely lag your game. This is also a problem if you miss Plant's snare. I've only had this happen to me a handful of times, as it's really easy to hit the Snare on the Throne, but if your game starts lagging like crazy on 0-1 it's probably because the projectiles are lagging up the game. It'll be fine once you advance. This is also pretty rare because there are few weapons that fire slowly and have a lot of particles - it's mostly cannon weapons.

In a loop, you either want high spread or no spread at all. One of the reasons Golden Assault and Rogue Rifles are such a good option in hard mode is because their focused fire allows them to spearhead attacks *through* a crowd, enabling them to get to a safe space.
It's alright on Steroids because of how idiotic his aim is, as well.
