the scam is the person whos "anti-luring" with you by pming
if you go downstairs with no candle you can only walk like 1 step forward, but with a candle you can walk to the end of the room
So the scammer will tell you to drop your items at the end of the room, and the antilurer friend of his tells you to drop them at the bottom of the stairs so theyre still within range without a candle.
But the scam works because the rooms are different whether you have a candle or not, so when you extinguish it you'll never get back to the room you dropped them in

Are you sure this is true? I think I read that lit and unlit rooms are two separate instances. That is, if you drop your items in a lit room, extinguish your candle and reload the room, the items won't appear unless you relight the candle and reload the room.

you use a cannon to get Slayer experience. The range experience is just a nice bonus
I and everyone else with 99 range still use a cannon

well, theoretically if you wanted to go for maxed stats, you'd want to do a few basic quests to get general stats up, then go for 99 fishing at barb, reach 72 str and agi in the process, max out agility (while fletching too, you can max it out while maxing agi), then move on to something like hunter and rc while you're relatively low cb to avoid pkers.
After those are maxed, you can go for other random skiller shit.
Use chins to rush up ranged, train controlled exp for combat & use cannon while doing slayer, you'll hit 2277 in around 200 days of play time or so.
In reality though, this requires knowing the game pretty well, and would help to have gold from a main to go for this. most people don't level with this much efficiency.
