Primary focus is on Southeast Asia, but there is fantasy equivalent stuff of basically everwhere. Not sure if they are being consistent about time period in a way that I can decode, but I'm thinking 1800s roughly. So you can have your proto-cowboy Spanish guy, and have native american stuff.
Skullgirls did roughly the same thing, except it was more 1920 ish Europe as the base setting, with the setting being wide enough to contain not-Egypt with the gods name still attached.

I would recommend looking for some combo videos to give you an idea of what he can do. Even if you cant replicate the stuff perfectly you can at least get some ideas as to what you can combo off of and how you can extend your combos. Also just spend some time in the lab experimenting.
