Simply that Suzu was a character I grew attracted to sometime in early February. I posted as much as I could about the character, which wasn't much aside from the Raide drawings, and eventually more people started to move over and see how a route with a narcoleptic could work. I would take credit for her popularity surge but I know even without me, she would have still had a following eventually.
As for Saki, it's because she wasn't as well known during the beginning of the threads. Her and Rika weren't discovered till later in the threads. Both eventually got their routes as well but their diseases are more heartbreaking rather than the 'cute' of Suzu's.

Look, if we have nothing in the game but that CG to go on (and those aren't always a reliable metric for determining height, e.g, Emi looking taller in some of her CGs than she actually is), and you discount anything Suriko says about her (she's a shorty), the next best thing is the 'official' art by the KS artists. Raide and Moekki drew her a bit shorter than Miki in the early days, but the most most recent KS illustrator to draw her was Weee, and this pic may be the best reference we have of what the devs might consider as her height.
Was this pic influenced by SC? Most likely.
If 4LS were to announce the development of an official Suzu route tomorrow, would Weee--or whoever the next artist is--draw her that short? Probably.
If Weee were to draw Suzu of her own volition, without any request by Suriko, would Suzu still be as short as she is pictured here, about the same height as Emi? I don't think she's in the habit of being inconsistent with her designs, so yes.
Because of Summer's Clover's status as fanfic, you can dismiss anything Miki says about Suzu's height if some reason you can't stand the idea of her being shorter than the other girls. But whether you see this as KS art or SC art, disagreeing so strongly with one of the artists responsible for her design (in fact, the earliest upload of Suzu on the Shimmie was a Weee piece) simply because it's related to a dev fanfic is a bit pedantic methinks.

You're about to get some schooling.
So /v/ used to have general threads. Quite a few, actually. However they didn't move too quickly unless a game was JUST released.
Then /ksg/ happened. We went through threads in under an hour, usually around half an hour. You literally could not visit /v/ without seeing /ksg/ on the front page. The constant threads dominated everything else on the board, and people begged moot for help.
So then he made /vg/ as a containment board for /ksg/ and all other generals, even though it's only rival were pokethreads, which weren't nearly as fast but people kept reposting thread after thread after thread and so /v/ was flooded with pokemon. Then /vp/ was made.
We are literally the reason /vp/ exists. Every other general on /v/ was tolerable with it's posting rates, even if the content was mostly shitpost.
