What if upgrading your weapons did more than just straight damage up and instead gave you new or better moves (for example maybe you get a 3 hit combo or a followup for a normal R2, etc.). Also, what if you could get gems that increased different aspects of your weapon i.e. gems that make your attacks faster, have better range, etc? Maybe this would have to be weapon specific since it would make some weapons way stronger than they already are.
I feel like this would going through the game and upgrading your weapon would actually feel like progression rather than just more damage.

Since she doesn't just keep talking in the background as you level, and you have to mash X to get through her dialog, it's just faster to just attack her. She'll just moan, crumple at your feet, then you can still channel echoes without needing to mash through the dialog before and after you do what you need.
It's just faster and more efficient. She'll be up and talking the next time you come back anyway.

Face it, the bloodletter has no real weaknesses. Against the very few weapons in the game with a better dodge attack, it can just use its R1s, which do have hyperarmor, to outtrade them.

Some attacks have a period where they are resistant to stagger, meaning getting hit won't interrupt you.
There's several tiers of it, so a reiter R1 might not be able to interrupt a beastcutter R2, but a church pick L2 definitely will.

Dodge behind him and poke him, then land a second and maybe 3rd r1 if you can keep him staggered.
Also fight the second phase in the water. Use the PC L2 on him when he call lightning.
