Problem is that he is useless while his ult is down, it has like a 60% downtime. So you have 20 seconds to actually do something with your ulti, which doesnt give a lot of breathing room, and thus you have to resort to gimmicks.

Nah, his growths are fucking awful that's the main problem. His start is meh but his main problem is his lack of lategame use besides ratting.
The best early game in the world doesn't offset a terrible mid game and horrible late game. Plus he stats with 24 Strength and 24 Intelligence, so it's not that his starting stats are just horrible, but 1.8 agility growth is beyond mediocre, especially for an agility hero. Him only starting with 15 Agility makes it even worse.

What affects my decision on which elements I choose to focus on invoker? I usually go quas/exort, but that's obviously bad against heroes like enchantress. Also, does anybody use wex/exort? Because quas/exort and wex/quas seem to be the most popular.
