I know people were complaining here and the last thread about annoying things fanartists do when drawing Sans, and I agree with all of them. But then someone posted that comic of Papyrus and Flowey and after I woshed my eyes some it made me think, what are people's big peeves when fanartists draw Papyrus? Two people mentioned his mouth.
Speaking of which I notice in general people seem more forgiving with Papyrus in fanart, but is it because but is it because artists really are just better at staying true to the gist of Papyrus's design than they are with Sans, or do people just have a higher tolerance for off-model stuff because he's not subjected to the same level of extreme OOC as Sans, which is why people got so selective in the first place?

Off-model Papyrus tends to be less off-model than Sans, since people tend to stay relatively true to his skull-shape. And his features too - he usually gets the little button eyes and big teeth just fine because he looks really weird if you draw them bigger/smaller. Whereas Sans often gets fullblown huge anime eyes because they're larger and more detailed than Paps'.
And yeah, I'll forgive art for being off-model if it captures the spirit of a character, like I think your example does. A lot of off-model Sans is some sort of lame bara/shota sex god, so I'm less charitable towards it.

Yeah, it is really spooky to write. Frisk is a quieter character though, you can do a lot with body language and facial expressions. Read some dialogue in books and stuff to get a feel on how to balance it out.

Sans has a very simple and consistent design which doesn't change a lot between expressions, so it's a lot more obvious when people are fucking up or purposefully twisting his features and proportions to make him more appealing to their fantasy headcanons.
Whereas Papyrus looks different between each of his portrait, world, and body sprites, which gives artists more breathing room as to what counts as on-model. I also think the fact that his head shape's a lot more complicated and dynamic than Sans' is makes people more forgiving. The size of his jaw and the look of his eyesockets are the most consistent features across all his sprites, so they're the easiest things to zero in on as "off".

Toby probably just didn't decide to animate them until he already finished the Papyrus battle and didn't feel like going back. But I also feel like he was striking a pose on purpose to seem really cool and tough. He mentions being disappointed in himself when you beat him and when he talks to Undyne so he's probably pretty self-conscious about that.

bought the game on sale, killed toriel
kept selecting "talk" and "spare" none worked. i know you can spare her and the prompt wouldn't be glowing yellow, but it still didn't work.
for some reason when she had 1/4 of her health left my attack did over two hundred damage and she died.
does the game expect me to feel guilty? i tried to spare and talk to here repeatedly but then she just died for no reason. it would make sense if i dropped her to zero with normal attacks
i'm just annoyed the game forces a crit kill out of no where and then expects me to feel sad, it seems really forced

Is it just me or is most Toregore even more OOC than most Soriel?
I mean, Toriel and Asgore end the game with Toriel still actively despising Asgore, all art I see of them post-game has them cuddling and flirting away like nothing ever happened.
And some stuff like this forces Sans (who canonically doesn't give enough of a fuck about romance) to have some sort of unrequited crush on Toriel so he can be randomly heartbroken. Mutilating three characters for the sake of one long-dead ship seems a bit lousy, especially when it's obviously a jab at Soriel.
