Nothing implies the other protagonists always take care of their slaves. We don't even know for how long some of them have been doing this.
Kyoiku Shido's for example, clearly left a lot of slaves behind when he grew bored of them. That was the whole point of him changing schools. There's no indication if Sansha Mendan's did the same but it is implied he had others in the past. So is KnK's.
