The map variety has improved since launch, and they've added Forge and Social playlists.
They've confirmed that modes like Grifball, Infection etc are coming at some point, though I'm as annoyed as everyone else that it's taking them this long.

Single has rounds which have defense and offensive rounds, which is better imo. like 1 flag on zanzibar is much better than fucking multiflag zanzibar

Just got done playing Assault in Halo 2. My team kept telling me to drop the bomb (literally drop it) into the area, rather than actually planting it. Was that possible back then, to just let go of the bomb and it would plant itself? Or are they retarded?
