I have met a few people like that, but one of my friends distinctly comes to mind. He always has crazy projects and weird ideas, loves to build things out of junk, and is always trying to do something weird and fun. And if he calls you up, you know it's for some weird thing, like building a giant robot out of cardboard or something. But at the same time, he often doesn't pay much attention to what other people want to do, or if he does notice, he doesn't care. Hanging out with him can be exhausting, but also very rewarded. That's why I love him as a friend, but could never imagine dating someone like that.
