I played around for a bit to get a hang for all the systems (Nodes, workers, trading, etc.) and a feel for some of the classes I haven't tried yet. Now I have a pretty solid idea what I'm gonna do. Easier to do when the game's text is in properly translated English.
It was also fun reading some of the lore in English. Unofficial translations kinda butcher it.
Technically you can perfect character creation on other versions.

It's fine. There will be more classes, and you won't have the heartbreak of your progress being wiped twice.
You also get to feel out a class you want to play and perfect it when the game launches, because you cannot reset skills without using the cash shop (you also get another reset voucher at 300 hours on your character, but that's way after you reach level 50)

You remember how archeage looked really good, then it turns out the pvp is really limited (basically only open pvp is on the ocean) and the game is pay to win as shit? We're basically hoping the same thing doesn't happen here.
The korean version of the game was heavily casualized, made pay to win, and introduced extreme penalties to attacking players in the open world, because the publisher deemed that they should focus on appealing to the korean "phone gamer" market.
However they've stated that they are very receptive to complaints by westerners who played the KR version, and understand the western market may be looking for a more hardcore sandbox pvp experience with no p2w. We'll have to see how it plays out.
Legitimately thinking about making one of those change.org retardations, because having a thing with a big number on it that says "this many people want you to not ruin NA BDO like you did the KR version" is exactly the kind of thing that publisher would be looking for.

All open world, even the dungeons. Killing un-flagged people results in a penalty. A penalty so big that (as of right now) theres hardly even a point in playing the game. Killing 2-3 people results in 2-3 hours of grinding. You already get a penalty for attacking someone, dont even need to kill. In KR its even worse though because 2-3 kills basically results in half a week of Karma grinding.

We are getting the lvl 50 version, without media/valencia. There is no level cap, but its not reasonable to lvl past 53 because mobs are gray, and awakening weapons aren't out untill valencia, which is the update after the 55 update+media

It's not great at the start, and is especially worse when using a low-tier wagon and don't have multiple margins to profit off of.
But it's pretty good eventually--when you get access to more items by raising your skill and by acquiring larger wagons, and have figured out where the good margins are.

Sorcs are easily the best at PVE because of their ability to farm way above their level by absolutely shredding big groups of guys using shard explosion with 2-3 fragments. Seriously, it's literally grinding without ever getting hit if you're consantly moving around between shard nukes. Combo with dark trade, or some other fast-hitting skill to build shards faster, and you have level 50 in 10 hours.

I've been watching the limited amount of level 40-50s PVP for the past few hours on the NA build.
Potions are almost never used. If they are, it's only to restore some chip damage that is ultimately worthless compared to the huge, punishing nukes that high-level PVP revolves around. You ABSOLUTELY cannot outheal yourself with potions against that kind of PVP, at least one on one. Potions are just for PVE sustain.
