I can never bounce anything in mine. I thought I could use it to do HT-12, but I always block fuckall damage. I almost only get into very T7/8 games, and when I DO get into a T6 game, I'm up against nothing but people firing large caliber HE or high pen APCR at me, all while being hit for 300~ every 10 seconds by whatever artillery they happen to have. Nobody even TRIES to shoot weakspots if they have low pen, so I'm not managing to actually block anything, since HE being partially absorbed doesn't seem to count.
I block significantly more in my Piger every game, simply due to people wanting to shoot weakspots, and me wiggling so their shots hit the front instead. O-I can't wiggle worth shit.
I think it might be down to "NA culture" too, because on NA server everyone hears about a new tank being well armored and so either doesn't even try to shoot it, or loads HE/APCR and autoaims.

You think you've found a good position/firing lane in one game and then it's trash the next time you try it. The maps are really cluttered and the only way to find out what cover will actually work and isn't just cosmetic is to try it yourself and risk getting wrecked in the process. I have no idea what positions or flanks are suited to what tank/class because it's just a clusterfuck and the only reliable tactic seems to be camping near the spawn to support at the start the mopping up easy kills from whatever flank falls first.

Not really, aside from a few sneaky spotting positions for scouts.
In WoT it was pretty easy to figure out that brawlers generally head in one direction, the flankers head in another direction and support tanks would set up camp in the same few positions pretty regularly. The size of the friendly force then dictated whether one flank would push or fight defensively. It was easy to figure this out from watching the mini-map in game or following a good player around if you lost your tank prematurely.

I've gone down the American Medium line and am currently on the Easy 8. I have no idea how to play this tank, it seems great but I rarely survive longer than 5 minutes. The M1A2 gun is pretty shit, people told me it's gun is better than the Jumbo's gun so I can only imagine how shit that is.

Everyone keeps telling me about the gun depression too, but the thing is, whenever I find a hill I have to drive up the damn thing and it always seems like people have 0 problem shooting me. The gun depression on the M4 seemed way better, on the E8 I am constantly having to drive all the way up a hill to use the depression, and not only that it seems like every hit I take is a hit that knocks out a crew member or a module, usually ammo storage.
All these very good value deals that AW is throwing at us yet the game is pretty much dead

The funniest part... most of us really don't need a Type 59 in AW, already have 40+ tanks, cause it is sooo hard to grind tanks in that game. Hell I didn't even play with that T-62 Veterans Days gift tank. The only thing I really like over AW compared to WoT is that I can at least do my daily x2/x3 in peace through PvE, then go grind in PvP.

Yes it is suffering, the ammorack can be hit from the front and sides and has next to no health. When I played it cromwells, t37s and even types 64 were capable of damaging it with a single shot.
I can't count how many fucking times was I ammoracked with a single shot - repaired it instantly just to get it 1 shot by the next shell.
I'm on Panther 2 right now, and in hindsight - it is already worth it suffering through the first.
