Sill's status as a decent healer an a decent mage just doesn't suit Rance 03.
You rarely equip more than one skill on a character.
Shizuka can't heal for shit but she's a much better mage than Sill with better attacks (even Sill's normal magic attack has recharge) and Sel can't attack for shit but her whole party healing is much better than Sill just healing the party member with the least health.
And unlike other characters like Kanami and Sioux who are first choice for much of the game, Sill's upgrades are available relatively early.

Maybe. His illness basically keeps him stuck in JAPAN, so he wouldn't be able to adventure with Rance like Rick has.
On the other hand, Rance started out hating Rick whereas he seems pretty okay with Nobunaga from the get go. If you think about it his relationship with Nobunaga was pretty close to his relationship with Keith.

The number stats in Sengoku only apply to army battles. It's how good they are at commanding their troops to do that action.
The only stat that directly affects the individual commander is the level.
Nobunaga also beat Rance through having a defensive swordstyle that easily countered Rance's hyper-aggressive one and disarmed him. Levels wouldn't actually matter.

Rance's fighting style is all about being hot-headed and fierce.
Nobunaga had level 2 Jiujitsu and level 1 Sword Combat, which combined give him a fantastic defensive style that easily counters Rance.
I do think Rance could've probably beat him if he took more time into thinking, but compared to Rolex, who Rance can beat by just doing his thing, Nobunaga actually was the stronger sword fighter.

Besides, when you don't have a real translator around and you're developing a tool for translation, you need some base to test character limits and other factors that can break the text. Could have chosen lorem ipsum, but that's even less accurate to what he was trying to get. Tilde was pretty secondary in Quest but still became a fated girl in IX. Sen was also completely unimportant to the plot of Sengoku but became a fated girl in IX. It all comes down to popularity.
Being a fated girl doesn't mean much more than getting a cool new weapon any way, since way more than 20 girls are currently devoted to Rance, and he likes to keep things balanced.

Her character growth means whatever it means, not what you want it to mean. Standing on her own does not mean she isn't going to be fated to a man. Senhime is very independent even when she's fated to Rance for example. Her not falling in love kind of means nothing, because Shizuka also won't go beyond hate in Sengoku.
