Me personally I think I'd want SMT gameplay in the Dangonronpa universe. Art style is dangonronpa, universe is despair Japan but then throw some demons in there. Say that Humans who die consumed by despair manifest demons, the demons of course being classic SMT variety, and those demons are on a rampage throughout the world.
Group of teenagers or young adults can manifest hope strong enough to bind the demons to them (or can purchase their loyalty with monocoins at auction) and set out to either eradicate despair with the power of hope (law), become despair itself and rule the world (chaos), or carve your own future (neutral).

Forgot to add: Ultimates or SHSLs are the ones who carry hope within them and are therefore the only ones who can control demons. There would be the ultimates you can get as party members, ally or neutral ultimates you would come across in the game, then the ultimates who are out causing despair and may or may not therefore be enemies. Your character would be without an ultimate ability, but the ending would make you either Ultimate Hope, Ultimate Despair or Ultimate Future.
Call the whole thing a killing game, provide a mastermind behind it all (which inevitably is Junko in some form or a character/creature based off Junko) and you got yourself a better game than that fire emblem faggotry they came up with instead.
