Guys, I miss animal crossing, but it's also kind of painful.
I played it a lot in my last relationship. We both bought a copy on release. Played in each others towns when away. Farmed beetles together. Even made characters of ourselves in each other's towns.
But we broke up.
Even without the character, the town just reeks of memories. I want a new one but this one has a bunch of my favorite villagers, I am only a couple bugs away from a full museum, I have nearly all the gyroids, and I just put so much work into it.
Anyone else go through this?
I think I'll just buy a new copy. I'm thinking digital this time so I'll always have it. But I still have an XL and I'm holding out for the inevitable New 3DS 2.0. I'm scared of file errors when moving it to a new system.

If you want further comment on what I said before, really go for it, there is no reason to mope around and think of what was before, you enjoy the game and keep on enjoying it. Sure it'll be a lot tougher to play while alone, but it doesnt make it any less nice, and if even that fails get friends to play or people online. Best thing you can do if you just cant deal with it is to reset but its not worth it as it is the same game, you like your villagers, get some goals and play it casually, as I've had that experience I'm telling you it is tougher to play alone, but its really fun either way.
Never let anyone or anything ruin something you like, not that those memories are bad but the nostalgia affects you, you gotta get through it. Hope this helps

The villager moving out is random
Finding out if a villager is or isn't moving out isn't, just pay attention to what your villagers are talking about. If they're talking about rumors not related to someone moving out, you're safe for that day
>Cranky villagers will state that rumors can be frightening.
>Jock villagers may ask to spread rumors about their latest world record, or complain that others say that they are a prince from another planet.
>Normal villagers will comment that they will only spread rumors they have seen themselves.
>Smug villagers may remark that they have done things with other villagers, but refuse to elaborate on the details.
>Snooty villagers will use fabricated examples to show the player that simple rumors can spread very quickly.
>Uchi villagers will complain that rumors are circulating that they are known for one sport, when it is in fact another.
>Peppy villagers will ask the player for any gossip, think you are keeping something secret, and ask for you to spread the details.
>If a villager wants to move out those'll be replaced with rumors about that. Rumors about the player don't count.

There's always a way to check if any of your residents are moving, you can either just walk around and wait for one of them to ping you.
Or you can talk to other villagers until they mention something about rumors, if they do, that means nobody is moving currently.
If somebody is moving, this conversation will be replaced with information about who's moving.
