I have 50 black lumber in storage and 20-odd of black branches. I only brought out some for furniture and such but not to the point that it gets depleted. Unless you completed that one trade depot quest with a blueprint as a reward, in which case I will call you an idiot for squandering precious materials.
Anyway, some of the requests in the trade depot will give you black lumber as a reward. Watch out for those.
Finally got swole with some amazing equipment and I'm making progress again in Rune Prana.

Mainline SoS/HM is now officially an otome game, so the girls can't be girls that are "threatening" to the female audience, like lolis or tit-monsters. However, the husbandos are all the staple characters. This started at least in ANB, if not ToTT. RF still has a major male audience, though, so the girls are mostly the standards there as well (though I think the character designer doesn't like cow tits, since the only "big" girls are the can't-haves), and the art is more animu-standard.

That's what I noticed, too.
ANB had that older fujo-bait good-looking guy (Soseki) but no older 'ara ara' women. The girls get their fujo-bait while the guys are stuck with an insufferable woman (Michelle), and more or less bland bachelorettes.
At least in SoS, you got the older woman which is Iris, but the shota parallel is absent. I do hope that Hashimoto will include that in the next iteration.

Even with Iris you see the otome-game aspects. Iris is the otome game equivalent to "male power fantasy" characters. She's pretty, got good fashion (while still being pretty modest in the scheme of things), is older and "experienced" (as far as the FeMC is concerned), is an author, etc. But, she is not a rival. Hell, she ends up forever alone, while the FeMC gets her man - which could be Klaus, the natural fit for Iris, or Mistel, her little bro who she is close with,or Fritz, her ex and first love- any way, FeMC can take a man out of Iris's life, if she so desires. But they can still be bffs or whatever, it's cool. Like I said, Iris is no threat.
That Iris is appealing to male players too is just a bonus.

Eh...
If you look at the history, the first game had the blandest heroines ever, but then 2, the game with a humongous male cast, as well as the otome option in the 2nd gen, is were it hits it's stride with female characters.
If you're talking about the FeMC in 4, and her having most of the more stock-y characters as options, I agree to an extent that it is the case, but I don't see that as much of a loss. Better that the otome side gets more of the cookie cutter treatment than the bachelorettes.
As for the otome option cutting into our "side" of the game, I can sort of understand, since as far as I have played so far, there just isn't a Dorothy/Raven type to pursue, nor is there a "bro who also happens to be female" type, and I can't help but feel like the dudes are to blame for the lack of female romance options.
