Their conditions couldn't be more obvious. There's a lot of shit that's too dangerous for Saki to do because her body's pain receptors are gradually going dead.
In Rika's case, just the fact that she has a similar condition to Hisao has a lot of story potential.
Moreover, had you even heard of these characters before the OP? Because I don't think you'd be talking shit about them if you read their profiles, and you clearly haven't.

I mean, both have a future determined by their condition. There's techniques and stuff they can use to slow its progress but one day it's going to be the end of them.

Another anon was talking abouthaving the story follow the good ending, where Hisao chases Lilly to the airport, and dies when he has the heart attack.Lilly leaves for Scotland, not knowing what happened, and secretly hates Hisao for 'abandoning her'. She never knows the truth until years later, living in ignorance to the truth for years, until she is forced into an arranged marriage. Hanako, who mostly dropped contact with Lilly, shows up the day before the wedding, and tells Lilly everything, how Hisao died trying to reach Lilly. Hanako would explain that she developed a hatred for Lilly for blaming Hisao, and for stealing Hisao away.

Really? Get on it! Baldur's Gate 2 is more than everything you'd hope for out of a sequel, and if you install Tutu or BGT you can play through both games with the one party. The storyline is way more in-depth, the most interesting characters are still there, alongside a cast of awesome characters. There are even romance options and other little easter eggs. I loved the original game, but BG2 is definitely my favourite.

I'm guessing that was lost in translation. Playing Everlasting Summer was equally jarring for me as an English speaker. I think it's that you lose the implied tone of voice and body language with which words would normally be said.

Catgirl ending is arguably best end for the way it wraps everything up. I'm just a huge fan of 4th wall breaking, and Miku's ending had that in spades.

Dunno what to to tell you, man. I felt the same way after I finished my first route (Emi's), but after taking a break for a couple of days, I forced myself to go back and play it again. And I won't lie, it was painful at first. I was going for the Hanako route, but every time I'd see Emi I'd feel awful. But I pressed on through, and 15 months later I don't regret having done so.

This game used to crush me like that when I first played it three years ago. I realized all the relationships I've had, platonic and romantic, were relatively shallow. I didn't feel much for the people I knew and I've never felt like I could be with any one of the people I knew and be happy regardless of the circumstances around us. I saw what I was missing out on and I hated it
I still don't have what I realized what I was missing but I keep up hope that I'll find it eventually. Maybe I'll find someone who can accept me for who I am and I them. I've got depression issues and I'm not too interesting of a person, I don't club or party or any of that kind of stuff, but I'm sure there's someone who'll love me in spite of all that

The game is just an interpretation of reality. Whatever is in the game existed or exists somewhere. That's why humans like fiction and games, we get to explore things we could only dream of in our short lives. I doubt I'd ever be able to have tea with a blind Scotswoman or play Risk with a deaf Japanese girl but I can understand those situations a bit better and what it might be like to know those people thanks to KS

We do things we'd rather not, get heartbroken, people leave us, people die, we forget, but we keep pressing on for the good times because the possibility is out there
The end of life is hardly a good one but we don't think of everything we've done being in vain at the end.
