All of the bosses are the opposite of the soul attacks they use.
Blue: Integrity. Papyrus only wants to be a royal guardsman because he thinks it'll make him more popular, constantly lies about himself, and Sans is a lazy shit who just makes excuses for his laziness.
Green: Kindness. Undyne tries to kill you throughout Waterfall, even when you've done nothing wrong, and her entire date was feigned kindness because she thought it would be revenge.
Purple: Perseverance. Muffet wants to raise money for a limo because spiders can't persevere through the cold of Snowdin. Additionally, she just stops fighting when she learns you bought something and/or didn't kill any spiders.
Yellow: Justice. Mettaton fucked up the royal memorial, wants to kill you just so he can become an idol in the human world, and constantly abuses his employees. If you include Alphys, she hid from her mistakes in the True Lab instead of admitting them.
Cyan: Patience. Orange: Bravery. While nobody turns your soul these colors, Asgore has cyan and orange attacks. His lack of bravery is obvious in that he just sits in his castle instead of being proactive like Toriel criticized him for. But when a human does end up falling, he has them killed right away instead of waiting to see if the human can help them non-violently.

Alphys hides from her mistakes, but she hates herself more than anyone hates her for making them, and WANTS to make things right, but just needs the courage to finally do so. Mettaton has his own brand of justice, I guess.
