I might. I streetpassed a ton this weekend, but a few of my old villagers still show up in town.
Pashmina, Mira, Tabby, Clawdia, Agent S, and Cobb were ones I spotted today.Even reading the guide in the OP, I still get confused on how to know if you emptied your void. All I know is I streetpassed at least 20 people over the weekend.
Meanwhile I have Lucy leaving tomorrow, unless I got the date wrong a second time.
Any tips for someone who's never gone through Toy Day?

I'm pretty sure you only clear your void through Streetpass if the 3DS you pass has New Leaf, but I'm not entirely sure how voids work in this instance. Visiting a town with 10 villagers is a 100% foolproof way to clear your void.

It's a pretty simple holiday. Just talk to your villagers to find clues for what they want for Toy Day. Best to write it all down. Even if you have only one clue for some villagers, you can usually narrow down what they want just by whatever presents you have left in the sack Jingle gives you. Also, you should be buying all the pieces of the Santa outfit from the Able Sisters this month.

Make sure you're writing down what your villagers are asking for. They'll have two hints, a color and an item type (furniture, doll, food, wallpaper, etc). You'll be given a stack of gifts to hand out and you'll have to know what each looks like.

There can only be one villager in your void (the last villager that moved out of your town without being adopted). Your void is always cleared when you interact with another person online (visiting his/her town, being visited or via streetpass). If the other person's town has space (less than 10 villagers) the villager in your void will move into that town, otherwise he/she'll be erased

The 16 you heard about is how many moved villagers are remembered by the game, and they will visit your Main Street even after having moved out. Any of these 16 can't move in through any means, even inviting them from another town. After the 17th moved villager the first will be erased, and that particular villager will be available again for moving in by campsite, random move-in, invite, and void.

Pretty sure that only happens if you TT backwards in time, the game won't recognize TT'ing forwards and the turnips will spoil at next Sunday as usual.
The trick here is using a 2nd game to TT to a great turnip price, that won't affect your turnips.

ANON! i figured out the solution, I'm sure everybody here already knows this but didnt want to feed the new, which is understandable
1. you need to create a QR design using the QR machine (or just upload any of the defaults, whatever, it just has to be from you)
2. upload it to this site http://www.thulinma.com/acnl/ and click the "copy creator" button
3. choose whatever image you want to use and once it generates, hit the paste creator button
now when you generate the image from the QR code, the game will think you are the one who originally made it and it will let you use it on signs

It's just so boring. Designing houses is a great part of the series, but not enough to carry a game on it's own. I was hoping it would at least have a nice chunk of dialogue, but none of the characters have much to say at all. Almost as dissapointing as Amiibo Festival.
