Your charm table resets every time you load your save in this game instead of being chosen when you make a character. And there's nothing that locks you into stuff.
If you do use the IG, then just upgrade speed as much as you can until G Rank when you can get Effect Extender.

Not really. Dalamadur and Gog are "cinematic" fights with bloated health pools that have fairly little to do with actual MH gameplay. plus Gog is designed around being fought with multiple people from a pure mechanics standpoint, solo your options are pretty much reduced to Giganiggacannon and Je Suis Monté.
