I started with Infinity and then moved to 5 and AHL+. Changing the pitch feels a little weird in 5 compared to Infinity and you have to actually be conservative with missiles, but otherwise it's not too different.

for example, flight in Infinity has a lot more weight to it and also uses the kinda ridiculous high-g turns from 6, but the arcadey bits are pretty much the same, missile lock > push button > hope you got the right angle
The new unlock system is better too, but I'm not a huge fan of how it was implemented since it's still grindy as fuck which is made worse by >3 games per day

Looking back on it, the entire wizard fight was just an extended sequence of scissors transitioning into a defensive spiral once the rest of the squadron got a position on me, and then making a run for it, and coming back for the joust.
I distinctly remember high yo-yos being rather effective against one of the squadrons that was consistently out turning my F-15C and getting in phase while scissoring.

GPB cycles targets based on the proximity to the bomb's projected landing point, which really should have been addressed somewhere in-game a long time ago.
Alternatively you can switch to standard missile to target the old fashioned way and switch back to GPB, which will not change the target.

S rank is dependent upon two things - total score and destruction of all targets. That's why sometimes you'll finish a normal mission with an A rank even when there's still time on the clock, for instance on pipeline if you get the fleet emergency update and nobody kills the subsystems.
Only the objectives count towards destruction of all targets in special raids, so as long as your score is high enough it'll still count for an S rank even if there are targets left. The rescue bonus really comes in handy here since you can make up for multiple missed targets with it.

I've lost S chances on Moby Dick because my teammates always attack the main vessel first and rush the final cockpit before killing the side vessels. Very annoying.

In Infinity the planes are ridiculously maneuverable, especially with the high-g turn mechanic.
Going from that to playing 4 and 5, many crashes were had before I realized there was no such mechanic and the planes took a while to do loops.

Basically the idea that someone made the Raptor reach maximum speed (over Mach 3) and the stress pulled off all the radar-absorbent paint.
In short, very fast but no protection from missile locks. Might be a fun thing to use if you want a top tier plane with the challenge of avoiding missiles.

There have been good emblems and there is potential for good skins. It's just a joke that items are in the shop for 2 whole damn months and so few items are available.
The shop should have like a million different things available at any given time. It's like they don't even want people to spend tickets. With no reason to spend tickets, that's one less incentive to be a good goy and buy more fuel. I just don't understand what they get out of this. Bad for their business, bad for their customers.

There is something screwy in the game, or maybe it is lag, but I've had targets just have missiles and bullets bounce off them. with a score to match.

It's just hit or miss with me every single time. Either all the targets line up perfectly and all I have to do is press the circle button and move on, or I have targets caught in an infinite tail chase with me and the next closet targets are miles away.
It's like this in every game. Everything just falls into place or everything is perpendicular to me 100% of the time and the second I get behind an enemy and my missile is 1 inch away, it fucks off to outer space.
Then I end up falling back to the bracket where I get matched with brand new players and then I get like 50k again in some mission but I still don't MVP or get the team win research bonus because the newbies on my team all went <14k, which is still 20k less than the lowest rank player on the enemy team.
