Game Gear era starts starts with Iffy thinking that Nepgear and Game Gear's names are kind of similar. Nepbike got real excited and wants to meet up with Nepgear, and stated that Nepgear's her little sister.
Iffy wondered about this aloud, and Sega noted that the two's name have resemblance. Nepbike really wanted to meet Nepgear asap, but Sega said that meeting Game Gear takes precedence and it'd be troublesome.
Nep finds the native a bit creepy. The people avoid talking to them when they asked about Nepgear and Game Gear. Both Nep and Sega were baffled as Game Gear isn't bad girls to Sega and Nepgear's is not a scary girl to Neptune's mind. Nep and Sega continued to bicker on about who to seek out first.
The three got labeled as heretics as the people turned on them when Game Gear came to their rescue.
(Iffy didn't mind taking the Nepbike into the alleyway since she has no love for the Eggplant paint job)

Anyways, Nepgear got them out of harm's way, and she really wanted to disassemble Nepbike. When told that she's Neptune's sister, Nepgear wondered about if their mom or dad's a bike. Game Gear popped out of nowhere to take to Segamin and Iffy. She didn't think that they were hostile to her even if they were strangers that somehow knew her name, and Game Gear that she gets a sense of deja vu and a longing when she sees Segamin. Game Gear advised the two to take their leave, as she asked them to not get involved with the affairs of the era.
Iffy stopped Segamin from going after Game Gear when the Neps returned. Nepgear was all sparkly from taking Nep on a spin. Segamin was not pleased about Neps ditching them as they went on that joyride.

Isn't Hyperresolution 0.2 supposed to work with Rebirth 2? I copied the files over, edited the resolution and... yeah nothing changed. Tried Fullscreen and Borderless Fullscreen, AMD VSR doesn't seem to work with this game either.
Redownload the game because of the " ; " in it's name, nothing. Tried to move everything in a rebirth2 folder, again nothing.
That's all I found regarding fixes to this problem. I just want to enjoy some Nepunepu in downsampled 4k again.

Ok. Game Gear era essentially led to a fullblown war of religion between Game Gear and Nepgear's followers, and Game Gear challenged Nepgear to a 1v1 duel to the end to stop the civil war.
Segami spoke against this fight, but Iffy said that this is how the history is going to unfold, when Nepbike remarked that she's confident that Nepgear would definitely not take a life. Upon hearing this, Iffy asked Nepbike and Sega to warp back to the library. Sega objected, but Iffy retorted with "can you really stop them right now?" and that that they ought to come back after having things planned out.
They returned to the library, with IF saying that they've seen what they've can as observers, with Sega not satisfied at all. Nepbike felt that Sega's too nervous/obsessive after Sega voiced her disappointment. Sega's retort in how that she always cut straight to the point, which somewhat surprised Iffy.
Histy interrupted the trio by telling them that their observation of the era had stabilized the era, but history as a whole is still fluctuating. (Nep did yet another meme by saying "in Japanese please"), and there's unforeseen consequence to this observation.

Nepgear and Game Gear appeared, and Histy revealed that this is a protective measure of the library against an unstable era. Histy said it's never been triggered before when Iffy asked about it. Segamin was rather jovial about it as she said that they can now count of the strength of these two come the next fight, a comment that made Nepbike called Sega a demon for.
After Iffy spent the time to brief the gears, the two agreed readily to help the protags. Nepgear was really happy to be with her sister that is a bike, and asked IF for permission to be in charge of Nepbike's maintenance, with Iffy saying she's ok so long as Nepgear doesn't break Nep (and Nep trembled at the though while saying that her coolant's leaking out of her body). Game Gear found it incredible that her ill feelings had vanished.
Game Gear then offered to help Nepgear with Nepbike's teardown, with Nepgear happily agreeing as she said that she'll get started around the engine while Game Gear going after the gearbox, and Nep pleading for Iffy to intervene and stop this teardown.

Nep admitted that her fight with Saturn's just child's play in comparison to Uzume vs Dreamcast. Sega said angrily that the fight from Nep's time kept snowballing to the point that it became this bad. Nep was washing her hands from being the belligerent, but Iffy promptly cut both of them off and told them to head back to the library for the time being.

There's abit a of difference between the way the hero's fall has been built up to in those two series, and when it's suddenly spring on you the way mk2 handled it. It's abundantly clear that Arthas's path will lead nowhere good long before he leaves lorderon, the same way that you already know Sayaka will end up in a dark place two episodes before it actually happens.
On the other hand, mk2 springs that while thing on you just moments before the ending. It has no build up, comes completly out of the left field, and runs counter to all the themes of friendship and stuff the rest of the game has been building up. It just plain doesn't fit.

The built up was the dialogue with the Oracles, Nepgear's monologue and the tension between the Neps and Noire/Uni. Of course it feels rushed because the game wasn't made for a single ending yet the ultimatum was very clear: feed the sword or the world is destroyed.
Even then the power of friendship still was there. After you kill everyone you can check an event in Planeptune where one of the NPCs says that the goddesess are still with you, inside the sword.
Great ending, I just wish a duel between Nep Jr and Nep.

That's the whole point. Conquest is something that the entire game needs to built around setting up and executing, not something that's left to literally the final chapter.
Like, VII normal end was awesome despite being possibly one of the saddest because it was properly foreshadowed and set up right from the start. On the other hand there's nothing indicating conquest prior to it happening except for three scenes about a cursed sword. Plus there's the whole bit where everyone acts in very atypical ways just to ensure that Nepgear is left all alone. It feels like a chapter from a different game that they just reinacted with Neps.

Got Re;birth 2 to work
While the first cutscene still lagged a bit I was able to get the game to start and get past the first battle wich seemed to work fine,
Re;birth 3 now crashes when the title screen comes in tho (used to crash after selecting New Game)

Re;Birth1 is my favorite story-wise, and I found the conquest route in Re;Birth2 hilarious, with the rest of the game being fairly enjoyable. The era of Dreamcast saw marked decline in population, and Dreamcast actually had to repair her own hardware as industrial output decreased, leaving less parts to go around (which was a sore point for Dreamcast) It turns out that Uzume was recuperating from her wounds from the earlier fight, and that was the reason why neither one of them would engage one another (Dreamcast would not stoop so low and would rather fight it out fair and square.) Dreamcast found Uzume a boorish, troublesome person that can't resolve things in a civil way, so there's no preventing them clashing.
The trio checked up with Uzume after having met up with Dreamcast, where Segami suggested to everyone and Uzume that not having Uzume heal would prevent a fight, which didn't sit well with any of them. Nepbike actually apologized to Uzume over Sega's comment by saying that Segamin's a person that saw the end justifying the means.
Uzume bonded with Nepbike very rapidly. She went to call Nep Nepshy in no time, although she set a death flag by saying that the'll take up Nepbike's offer to ride her when the world's at peace (Nepbike and Sega both noted Uzume setting the flag)
Uzume and Dreamcast clashed again when Uzume had recovered, which Sega was all too insistent to interrupt. Nepbike and Iffy both felt that this was just history taking its course. Iffy told Nepbike to prepare to bail and she would rather see history intact as she's born after all of this had gone down. (You are given a choice to fight Uzume or Dreamcast here). Dreamcast found this 1v4 thing to be unfair.
The trio prevented Uzume from finishing off Dreamcast when Uzume was about to lay the killing blow, and they urged Dreamcast to take flight (which Dreamcast obliged) and then they warped out of the Dreamcast era, much to Sega's dissatisfaction. Temporal protection kicked in and the trio found Dreamcast and Uzume at the library after checking in with Histy, and Dreamcast and Uzume reconciled the joined the party.

The Saturn arc concluded on a surreal note. The trio went back to change the outcome of Saturn vs Nep. (You get to choose who to side with here). A surreal moment where PH met up with Nepbike ensues where Nepbike complimented herself.

PH somehow picked up that the bike's really 'her' as in Neptune, and Saturn cried foul over this 4v1, and then the trio took their leave while thinking that the reason for those two to fight was thin as paper to start with.

They went back and saw that time didn't change as Neptune and Saturn failed to show up, with Nepbike feeling awfully good about herself for having 'won' against Saturn. Sega went for a book to see what actually happened, and Sega was greeted with how that Nep got full of herself after that victory and the fight between her and Saturn kept up and dragged on, so the history refused to change.
A frustrated Sega insisted on going back and sort it out, and then we cut straight to Neptune and Saturn at the library. Neptune didn't find the setting futuristic (with Segamin saying that it's expected with them at a library)
Nep cracked a Fist of the North Star reference in response to the ruined world out there, with Saturn saying that she follows the series as well.
Iffy found it odd that Nepbike didn't go back to her ol'bike.
Nepbike: hey, hey, Iffy! Who's that cute purpley girl? Introduce her to me!
Nepbike felt that Neptune was objectively cute. Iffy on the other hand only wanted Nep to leave the bike.
Neptune was a little jealous of Nepbike after seeing this banter, and then she asked Iffy if she could have a ride on herself.

Nep vs SeHa actually has a pretty coherent plot, although it doesn't really go big on the time travel drama. The whole deal with the others remembering everything from prior loops, that IF isn't facing an existential crisis, that Segamin didn't get a meltdown over the whole world line refusing to change and being able to just have Nepbike and Nep makes going back in time that much less dramatic.

The good thing about the writing in the story is that Neptune is handled way better here than in Mk2. Nep's very much a leading character, playing a three-way dynamic with Iffy and Sega very well. She's kind of the glue which bounce off of IF and prevents Segami from taking all the spotlight. It's much better than her just dropping into Mk2 without being able to shoulder the narrative.
Hell, Neptune's heavy lifting in Mk2 was with the holy sword/conquest end, and that path isn't to the spirit of Nep at all.

Iffy's the most collected of the three, and it's been a long time since she'd had this much of a role to play. I think she's far better at reining in Nep and keep things moving than Nepgear, Noire and Histy. Her role in Nep vs SeHa isn't a babysitter of Nep though, and it's clear that she is acting out of her own wish to save the world, not just to help Nep. She has a sound mind, and Sega handled her personality quirks very well in the story, as her childish side comes out, but never taking away from her rational self.
Segami drives the course of the story. I said it before that she's a very different person from the Neps. She's stubborn and very determined, beyond Noire in her drive, highly curious and outright decisive as with Blanc and even more blunt than Uzume. She undeniably has the strongest leadership personality out of all the Neps to date. Not actually an easy person to be with, especially so for the typical Japanese.

Japanese still are big on conformity and the social pecking order is paramount. Segamin would be classified as one of those blood type B antisocial hotheads that don't roll well with harmony and established order of things, and trying to get a read on her is difficult as her thought goes a mile a minute. So all of the Rebirth games are on sale on steam right now. I have been wanting to try some Nep games for a long time. Which one should I start with? The first one? Dammit. I forgot to post this about the Dreamcast arc.
The trio ran into Dreamcast first, who was hostile to them, and she didn't buy the trio's story about being travelers. Dreamcast doubted them because it was unlikely for people to travel around for sightseeing when the world's close to to disaster. Sega was actually sympathetic as she said that Dreamcast's a product of this era.
Dreamcast thought that Iffy and Segami were assassins sent by Uzume to take her out, and the three of them found that just ridiculous, but they had no choice in the matter, and they proceeded to beat Dreamcast.
Nepbike noted after the battle's over that Dreamcast didn't seem as tough as Saturn, and Sega's reply was that Dreamcast was exhausted from the previous fight against Uzume.
Dreamcast found these assassins being more powerful than Uzume (actually besting Dreamcast and not just fight to a stalemate) a very surprising fact, and Iffy stepped in to deny Dreamcast's allegations, yet Dreamcast stubbornly held onto her assumption about them being assassins.
Segami actually defended Dreamcast and Uzume by reiterating that they are good kids (in plural, not singular) and it's just this gloomy situation which led them being so hot-headed. Iffy and Nepbike were surprised that Segami would defend both of them, but Sega shot by by stating that half of the blame's to be levied against the CPUs for this predicament.
