Honestly the warning signs were all there from the start which is why I never supported MN9. Bugs VS Tanks got mediocre reviews of 5/10 on Nintendo Life and 2.5/5 on Metacritic, and especially after the way Kaio was canned, ironically costing the publisher as much money as MN9 raised. Inafune is capable of creating good and enticing concepts but actually executing them has so far turned out poorly without Capcom's resources supporting him. Remember Yaiba?

Tried to incorporate his past iron-works occupation into the look, hence his torso straight up being an anvil.

You're in luck anon, this never happens in that manga, that was complete bullshit someone made up, and everyone and their mom believed it because no one knew how to read Japanese.
Bass asks Mega Man to let Roll race, most likely as a thank you, due to Roll giving Mega Man a chance to race again, and so Bass can beat him, they never interact again for the rest of the manga.
Hell, he never even talks directly to Roll at all.
Funny enough the only ship tease that's true from this is Plum crushing on Mega Man after he saves her, even the stuff about her and Quick Man isn't true.

Kind of funny, at least I personally think that at least in game lore Wily becomes more and more outright evil with each game. I mean, he pretty much began as a saturday cartoon villain who wants to be known as the best, but with each game he goes further and further to the point where he even tells Bass he was a mistake and that he is working on the strongest robot ever aka Zero who pretty much had the purpose of being a cold killing machine. I wish they could've shown more of the doctors' ambitions, to clear things up and show how the decision between robotics and networks ultimately happens, and how it happens for the respective timeline.
While the BN games had...passable plots, it would've been interesting to see them referencing similar events from those of the classic series, it would've shown how similar, yet different the two timelines really are. Sadly, the game that came closest to doing this was... Battle Network 4, and we all know how messy that game's plot was.

It's great. Best Mega Man-esque game I've played in years. I like in better than the ZXs (but that's my personal taste). The controls are slightly different from the MMZ/ZX, but it'll feel very familiar as an Inticreates game. If you hook up to a robot's brain, you can theoretically stimulate chemical releases (do robots have those?) and nerve endings, basic stuff like that. Say, care to give some bit of advice for someone fairly new to the game like me?

I can try, although I admit my runs through the game have never managed to be the smoothest.
- During your first attempt at a stage, make use of the checkpoints. But that's probably obvious.
- Try not to get hit. Er, probably also obvious. But not being harmed lets you rack up kudos, which help build up your score.
- You can convert kudos into points by using checkpoints or using special attacks.
- Don't be afraid to get through things with trial and error. There aren't all that many enemies in the game, learn their attack patterns so you can dodge them and their attacks.
- Finishing off a boss with a special attack, either Astrasphere or Luxcaliber early on, will net you a bonus 500 kudos points.
- Set challenges and try completing them for their given stages so you can accumulate materials for synthing equipment.
- This may just be my personal play style, but I always went for the two pieces of eye equipment that increase EP and reduces EP expenditure. And the ring that lets you double-jump. I upgraded them when I got the chance.
- Want the true ending? Look for jewels hidden in each stage that features an adept as a boss. With one sort-of exception. There are seven in total.

Oh, also. This may also just be my playstyle, but as you beat up adepts and finish stages, you'll gain access to new guns that let you target enemies in different ways and/or tag more targets so you can electrocute more simultaneously. I always prefer the ability to tag more enemies over anything else.
That said...
- You get an extra 10 kudos points for killing an enemy that's been tagged three times (pink targeting ring)
- You get an extra 30 points instead for killing an enemy tagged three times while you're airborne.
- You get an extra 100 points if you kill two enemies simultaneously.
And you may have already figured it out, but your flashfield/electric attack inflicts maximum damage only when you've tagged your target three times and they have that pink targeting ring around them.
You can't do this with some enemies because their weak spot is at a different level than your shots will fly, but you can do some additional, incremental damage by rapidly firing tags/normal shots from your gun even as you electrocute them.
