Is your console on 9.5 or inferior? Also do you have a NAND dump from your console on a lower firmware? If not you can't downgrade.

I've done so before. I'm not sure whether or not rxRools Dev Mode works with emuNAND, but if it does then use that. And make a backup of your emuNAND partition before updating so you can restore it if it doesn't work.

2DS does support lower firmwares than 6.0, in terms of relevant hardware it's identical to an O3DS. Worst that can happen in that case is if you downgrade below 6.0 and then do a system format, it'll be impossible to get past the system setup as it won't be able to do the 3D slider setup.

It's not a simple matter of "creating the files". There's layers of security and checks that need to be bypassed. Before the eShop spoof there weren't as many, but Nintendo apparently stepped up their game to keep the kickass homebrew out.

The developers of it added code to brick consoles that activates when their launchers are used with clone carts, to prevent clone manufacturers from stealing their work. With an old beta release they fucked up the brick code and it activated for a few Gateway owners too.

They're functionally the same, but since DSTwo is just copying Gateway's work, better to go with the original. They both work with any N3DS on 9.2 or below, DSTwo presumably works on higher firmwares but only for DS games, no 3DS.

A proper exploit has to be found. Many believe that smea has such an exploit but won't release it since he's incredibly anti-piracy.
Once the exploit has been found and released, someone has to determine what to change and how to change it to allow eshop access, then run some tests, fix, and release that.
It's not as simple as opening your favorite hacking software, right clicking, and telling it to access eshop.

Because their competitors are using their software without properly modifying it. It's their way of insuring that their work isn't used by them.

At the moment, Gateway. Unfortunately, if your firmware is low enough to use it, you can just use CFW for free and get the same experience.

There are much less 9.2 NA models than JP models.

The small N3DS didn't come out until later in the US, so you're 100% certain to get a 9.5+ system.
Europe had them at launch, but chances of a 9.0 system are quite slim.
Japan launched earlier with systems on 8.1 though, so you have a marginly better chance of a system being between 8.X-9.2.
Though it's still a gamble at the end of the day.

Unlikely. It only works up to 9.5 on n3DS because of new keyslots in the n3DS CPU, o3DS doesn't have these. Only remaining unknown key for o3DS is the 6.x save keyslot, and while Nintendo could hypothetically use that to secure the firmware in future, the fact that they haven't already is a strong indicator that they won't.

You can use it with whatever you want. When they used "anti-piracy" they meant that it can't let you play pirated games, but NTR isn't about letting you play games in the first place, so it's pointless.

Just to clarify, NTR 3.0 isn't really a CFW in it's own right, it's more of an extension for plugins.

Go in emunand, system settings, check the firmware begins with RX3D and update your system.
Don't exit system settings before updating, just do it when you see RX3D.

Well, you can get programs which automatically take games you download and put them in the correct folder structure.

Once you set up your homebrew you can switch to SDHC. I think the WII is cappable of max 32GB.... But Im not sure. I'm using a 16gb SDHC myself for 3 years now.
