>How do I connect to [server]?
1. Register on a private server that hosts the same game client you have.
2. Copy their realmlist URL. This can usually be found on the main page of the website or on their registration page.
3. Look for a realmlist.wtf file in your WoW folder. This may either be in the root folder, or inside Wow/Data/enUS/
4. Open the realmlist.wtf file in a text editor such as Notepad and paste in the realmlist settings of the server. Make sure it starts with 'set realmlist' followed by the realmlist URL.

You will need a clean wow.exe and dll files if you downloaded your WoW client from XYZ server. Check the clients section above.

5 Reasons not to play on Lordaeron

1) Molten has a long history of scamming and shady business practices. In the past they would do things like randomly suspend people's accounts and offer for them to be restored for a cash donation. When they weren't making enough money from their cash shop they decided to intentionally break the Shadowmourne quest line so the only way to obtain the weapon would be to pay €70.
2) After five years their other WotLK servers are still horribly broken. The idea that Lordaeron will be any different is a joke. Molten is all about making money and they will only put in just enough effort to achieve that goal and not a bit more.
3) Gross mismanagement. They've had their databases wiped twice due to the owners jewing eachother. It is not advisable to invest time into Lordaeron because its very possible your character will be destroyed some time in the future. You can read all about this here: http://pastebin.com/tktcCEFC

5) Pay to win. They claim you only will be able to donate for gear 1 tier below the current raid, but everyone knows that's a lie. Lordaeron will go full pay2win before the end of T8 raid content.

These posts are intentionally misleading, and kind of sad that people would spam so much misinformation just to try to gain attention on their project.
First of all, Lordaeron operates on an entirely different core than any other warmane realm. While older realms are running mangos core lordaeron is running on trinity core, the same core used by servers like GD and ToD.
Secondly you are claiming entire tiers of content are bugged, but at the same time none of that content is available and ready to be played. You have no way to know what is and is not working on Lordaeron, and posting a long laundry list of bugs from a server running an entirely different core is not only pointless, but it is needless shitposting. You might as well be comparing two entirely different games at this point.
If youre still believing that old youtube video about faked player counts (that was made by the same person who unsuccessfully made the nostalrius bot video, and with both comments and ratings disabled...) here is a more reliable link with data, and the addon you can run yourself. It is worth mentioning that on warmane they count accounts at the character selection screen as online players, leading to some minor stat bloating.

We all want the private server scene to thrive, but claiming bugs from an entirely seperate realm running an old core, and claiming theyre bugs from lordaeron is intentionally misleading. Please think about your contributions to the quality of these threads.

Gd has a small pvp scene with some action during peak times, but there is a lot of p2w and sometimes it can be hard to find queues against more than one or two teams.
Lordaeron is still progressing and will by starting wotlk content mid december. Warmane houses the Arena Tournament servers for wotlk and cata (instant cap) which are the most functional pvp wise. Lordaeron will probably have a nice pvp scene at 80 due to the number of people on the server, and having fixes/scripting from the same people who made the origional AT servers.
There are even some people doing 2s at level 70 for shits and some pvp gear, but not full activity until real content is out.

Ive played both and pvp GD is a second thought. Their pve scripts are nice but arena on GD is just a place for 12 year old slavs and p2w heroes to whack eachother with their mom's credit cards. I don't really play private servers but I'm playing the Lordaeron one right now. I'm level 11 and getting destroyed by mobs. Any tips on how to find gear or something? Do I just need to start getting more abilities so I scale better?

Hey man if you're having problem fighting mobs you should try a different private server. Lordaeron has vanilla 1-60 content (very outdated, its from 2003) and so is way too hardcore for the average new player.
Try out www.atlantiss.eu its running the 4.3.4 patch (from 2012) so its much easier for new players to get into.

WotLK talents tend to be far more powerful than they were in vanilla so at some point the mobs will become trivial for every class (for example, prot warriors essentially reach godmode with Improved Revenge and Shield Mastery talents which they'll have maxed out at level 24, becoming effectively immune to damage from standard mobs and almost 1-shotting two of them with Revenge).
Before you totally outscale the content, it's understandable to have some trouble on some of the classes. For example, warriors might get wrecked if they pull more than two mobs slightly above their level. Same with other (initially) weak solo classes like priests and rogues. If that's the case, you might want to pull mobs individually with ranged attacks (if multiple are pulled, keep damaging one and walk away until others lose interest) or complete lower-level zones 100% so that you won't be facing orange mobs in the next one (WoW has severe penalties to hitting mobs mobs that are two levels or above you). Or you could, you know, group up with other people in the area, I'd imagine Lordaeron has a decent bit of people in low-level zones still.

Yes its true their databases were wiped twice. They ended up giving out free Coins (a form of currency used to purchase in-game items on Warmane) as compensation.

Long story as short as I can make it:
Kaer retired around May 2013. He picked Hermes to be his successor, since Hermes already ran all payment/donation stuff through his hosting company, Skiddaw Ltd. They agreed to split all after-expense profit 50/50.
Hermes' company came under investigation from British authorities for tax evasion in December 2014. I speculate that at this point he stopped paying Kaer his 50% cut, hoping to hoard enough money to pay a multimillion-dollar tax bill (Molten has revenue of $300-700k/month, and expenses of $150-200k/month).
Kaer, angry about being cut out of the money, contacted Godaddy (where he registered Molten in December 2009), and told them he had forgotten his password. Provided proof of his identity and got control of the .com back. Did the same thing with the Skrill account/payment processor accounts.
At that point, Kaer initiated a hostile takeover of the server with the help of head GM Edifice (who they claim is Beepbeep). He has proof of all donations made, a copy of the accounts, but has NO character data.
So Kaer has the accounts and website, and Hermes has the old database with your character data, and neither side will budge. I honestly can't tell whats going on with these threads anymore. People who don't like / want to play on Lord spam against it, and then the same people who hate it so much, spam people to go and play it with large amounts of sarcasm. I don't even see an honest post to play somewhere else, as AA does give out accounts and ask to join, but they seem to only want to raid with a handful of core.
Over the course, many servers have had mostly bad track records. SC 1-2 was not very well scripted, yet everyone holds them to a high standard of entertainment value. Gummy literally took the money and ran with Sc2 even. HG had problems too, though was on the same level of entertainment as sc, actually doing raids and prog. Imperfect was amazing, yet anyone would tell you is was one of the worst servers this board has played. GD was an absolute shitfest, yet had great numbers, and willing players to be part of the "fun". Pandashan still wait you. ToD still in comatose. Atlantiss was mediocre when we first started on it, but decent overall, if you got past the fact a lot of content was literally blocked off. And other servers I've encountered were on the same levels as previously listed.
Are these people just trying to make anyone who comes to this thread never play on any pserver ever? Are they actual blizz sleeper agents, trying to devoid people who want to play emus? Thus starving them of entertainment, so when blizz announces legacy servers, everyone will say fuck off to pservers, and flock back to give blizz their autismbucks?
