That's because they've been unlocking content we already had since nexon while giving us nothing of what we should get (more fucking avatars come on fucking NIPPLE)
The only new thing we actually got was level cap updates, forgotten land (LOL), fslayer, knight and true ancients. That's IT. In all these months, that's literally all the "new" things we got. 2nd awakenings barely count because there was nothing for anyone except the people playing those classes. It was basically a blank update if you weren't playing them. In kdnf the 2nd awakenings usually came with reworks or content reworks which made them more exciting.
Level 55+ is still pretending we're in the 70 cap and 70+ is pretending we're in the 80 cap.
In 8 months we got 5 things that could be considered new.

The problem here is that DFO has the vast majority of it's content build vertically, and each tier is relatively short.
And the horizontal content that it does have, no one actually enjoys doing.
Hell modes are a boring slot machine
TA and regular Ancient grinding both take forever and the odds of getting anything other than the exact quest reward you're going for are too low.
OV has a couple fun dungeons and a couple annoying as fuck dungeons it's alright content with an alright system for rewards.
Tower of Despair is probably the best designed side content because it's actually different each day, but the reward for climbing it isn't quite worth the time investment thanks to slot machines.
