>Please Dr. Turkey, you're our only hope!
Edition

> Can the game be considered a full release?
No, for all intents and purposes, KSP should be considered still in early access state.
The game is nowhere near being able to stand on its own legs both from a gameplay perspective (career mode is definitely not ready and balanced) and a stability perspective.
There are still major bugs and memory leaks that shouldn't exist on a finished game.

> Are there big issues with the game?
Bugs and instability are still real and frequent problems, as with every product still in beta. Ask in thread for details.

> What are the devs doing?
Modified versions of popular mods are being included in the stock game while the game engine is being upgraded to its latest version. The next major update (1.1) is supposedly going to bring a complete overhaul of the GUI, be 64bit friendly, have a refined physics/heating/aero model and generally perform better.
An external team with heavily questionable experience (Flying Tiger Entertainment) is being tasked with porting the game to PS4, XboxOne and Wii U. They seem to be rushing for an imminent deadline and they are also working on a version of the game that will be obsolete in a few weeks/months.

> Should I buy the game?
KSP is very enjoyable at first, then it usually needs to be modded to retain some sort of longevity, but doing so may dramatically increase the instability of the game. You will be very familiar with the word "Oops!".
The Developers, Squad, have shown many times that they can't handle the project and are trying to squeeze all the money they can with the least amount of effort and with controversial PR tactics.
The general consensus at /kspg/ is that you shouldn't purchase the game, not because the game itself is unplayable, but because most of us agree that Squad does not deserve your money.

So begins the golden era of /kspg/.

You know they said they're gonna wait for 1.1 until console versions are out, do you?

Is this where you're getting that from?

I think it's more pointing out the development schedule hit the fan like hot shit out of an obese dunkin donuts enthusiast and now some hard choices will need to be made.

The problem of having six different versions of the game was the death knell of November 2016, a sort of clusterfuck of preorder shilling followed by a sudden abandonment of the idea.

If D.turk is trying to reinforce the dev schedule and unify all system ports, it might be a sign they dont plan to squeeze every last drop out then leave it like a dessicated hulk.

Although the only real choice, and it's a hard one, is that he needs to make the call to scrap the WiiU/Wii/PS4 and Xbone versions.

Tear that band-aid, turk. It's the only silver bullet that aligns the planets and makes your proton torpedo fit into the thermal exhaust port of Max's soul-selling of the entire enterprise.

†bh, I think it was me linking kasp to Max's confessional imgur album. Kasp pulled the fire alarm when he perceived it to be "out" that Max was getting fired.

Less than five minutes after I linked it to him a tweet popped up on Max's twitter making the announcement. Very rushed. Said he was gonna showcase multiple games other than KSP on squadcast, made one "epic" rocket that he slammed into the surface of the mun, then he started to break down and ended it 23 minutes early with the statement that "I have been fabulous."

Max realized his lies had created two identities, and the end was him cycling violently between the two identities, being "professional" while actually hating KSP and wanting to be "real" -- well it failed and the entire thing went down without a second thought and the few billies who knew who he was have already forgotten about him.

As far as why he got fired, I mean look at what a mess the roadmap is. Version numbers don't even fucking mean anything anymore. Modders are freaking out about the concept of a "silent update"

I think everyone finally realized he added nothing. All at once. The imgur album helped. He made some huge mistakes by posting here.

Mastermind? Idk, masterminds usually end up on top, not fired with little fanfare.
>>
>>122781263

>>
>>122781849

I don't really care, as long as he is far away from KSP.

Ah right there's prob thousands of miguel sabidos.

Well that's a sign he doesn't have some fancy new job he's off to. If he did, he would have bragged and gallivanted around by now.

I can only hope his grand plan was to just play FO4 for a few months, and that the gamebreaking bugs are now forcing him to understand what it feels like when a developer doesn't bother to QA their product.

they have admitted as much in devnotes, but more importantly, it's what **isn't** being added to allow three simultaneous ports to catch up with current development.

They've provided no transparency as to how U5 or mp (still in development™) will be added into a supposedly locked in publish date.

And the guy who jammed the autopilot onto this course just jumped out with the last three parachutes because he was too lazy to detach them from each other before jumping.

Like I told you, when you're this low you can only go up. He was even so good that he was rehired to help out after leaving for the first time.

You should establish dominance by having Skunky rehired.

I think technicians would be aware of the price of those things.
They also know how easy it is for them to get fired if they are a bit too slow or do something wrong.

Don't the teams mind rival teams poking around with cameras?
>>
>>122856439
Not the fastest, but quite fast at ~10 seconds.
It is no formula1, here you have one guy at each wheel which has to remove and replace the wheel all by himself, whereas in F1 you have one guy at the gun, one guy that removes the old wheel and one that puts the new one on (and lots of training), which translates in <3sec pit stops.

If you are talking about the guys doing pit stops, then there isn't really anything secret. A pit stop is "public", nobody is going to complain about people taking pictures and there is TV too.
If you are talking about all the teams in the garages behind, well, they run in completely different series on completely different cars than the guys doing pit stops in front of them, so there is not much " espionage" to do.

Anyway, you account for people being curious and set up your garage and car so bystanders can't see too many details about it.

The unfortunate thing is, with the new environmental laws for commercial air traffic, it's literally illegal to land supersonic jets in the EU because supersonic flight uses more fuel for less passengers than normal jets.
We won't ever have supersonic airlines if they can't fly between Europe and USA. The alternatives?
USA to Africa? No commercial interest. USA to China? Too little commercial interest. USA to Japan? Too little commercial interest. USA to Australia? What. Africa to China? Hahaha.
>>
>>122857908
They have 3 times the people we are allowed to have during our pit stops, of course they are faster than us.
And by "us" I mean my teammates, because I don't do pit stops in this particular championship.

Anyway, pit stops times are usually between 17 and 20 seconds, where 17 is very fast and 20 is quite slow
>>
>>122858030
Damn you, Mother Nature.
>>
>>122858030
I thought they were only banned from going supersonic.
>>
>>122855459
Looking at that, I again have to admire the skill of those drivers. Those cars are built for controllability at top speed, they're twitchy as fuck at low speed, and they still have to have good enough control that they can drive in there without hitting anyone, and stop in the right position so the crew won't lose time on taking a step left or right.

I mean, I've seen some of the best normal-car drivers in the world fail to even get one of those cars going from standing still.
>>
>>122858551
No commercial air traffic to or from the EU is allowed to exceed a certain amount of fuel per person per tonne of plane. You can't get enough fuel efficiency in a supersonic plane to meet the requirements.

I suppose you could schedule the flight to go to Russia instead, and then simply fake an engine problem over Paris and get permission for an "emergency" landing, but I doubt that would work more than once.
>>
>>122858030
There were no particular legal issue with Concorde. It was financial issues that killed him (mostly, the 2001 accident triggered the whole thing).
It could only reach his cruising speed above the ocean, though.
>>
>>122858715
The law came about after the Concord, and it's based on fuel consumed during the entire trip, not just in the EU.

The US didn't allow the Concorde to fly over it on the first place. Some people believe it was out of spite because Boeing's supersonic plane failed. But at the end of the day, since the Concorde wasn't allowed over America, it was not as profitable as expected, thus it was the US the one that killed supersonic civil transport :^)
>>
>>122861824
>outsourcing ecological damage
It doesn't work that way. There's only one earth.
>>
>>122867657
I don't even see the issue, water is the largest part of the journey anyway, would it really be that much less efficient to only accelerate to supersonic once over water?
>>
>>122862060
>with inferior processes in cheap countries
That's not how it works. You demand the company on that cheap country to meet a criteria, and then that company abuses lax labor works and bribable agents to cut down the costs. Why would you even pay for shitty screws when you told them to manufacture them with some specified qualities?

>huge amounts of oil
Pls, modern freighter transport is super cheap, you don't transport a single screw for every super freighter on the hundreds of tons.
>>
>>122867753
The company operating the SST needs to operate on a lot of country with a lot of people with some extra money to even be profitable. By having to just land on the east cost, you wreck that profitability. Of course, people on the west coast would just fly their average plane to the east, then go up on ther SST, and then to Europe, assuming the transit from one plane to another is fast. But on that situation, the companies not having the SST would take passengers that the other plane could be taking, and should take to stay profitable.
I think the Concorde's idea was to go from Europe, all over the US, and then East Asia. Half their expected money was gone when America told them "no."
>>
>>122868343

I've done the calculation myself using the route and average fuel I used back when I played FSX. Result was 3.02kg/100km per passenger for A320. Pretty accurate.
On the other hand, a coach uses 25L/100km and carries 50 passengers.
>>
>>122871971
>the US denies the company to fly over it
>said company instantly loses half the population on the world able to pay for such services

Okay. So if Europe, Asia, and the Americas ban every form of aircraft, it's not the regulations reducing much of their potential market that kill Airlines, but the lack of revenues obtained on Africa and Antarctica.
We went over this before, read older replies.

Playing SH5 with real navigation makes me wonder where the fun will be in a modern sub sim where they can get a gps fix and accurately measure speed in an instant.

Then again, you cannot use gps while submerged, and you are susceptible to be picked up by radar if you are near the surface. So modern technology doesn't take the fun out of some good subbin'

I wish there was a modern nuclear sub sim.
