Except Diarmund isn't a very personal guy really, so he wouldn't make Waver into a man. Its noted that part of the reason why his contract with Kayneth failed is because Diarmund didn't really care who his master was, he just wanted to serve someone. Because of this he never paid attention to Kayneth as a "person", but rather just as a master. Its said that if he saw his masters talents as something interesting, or took an interest in him personally, they would have gotten along rather well.
I guess Kayneth is weak to people taking an interest, and wants to show off a bit. As it currently stood, he only saw Diarmund as a tool until the end.

I like this change. There's hiccups here and there but it kind of teaches us that we should not rely on just leveling our favorite servants. Though, I'm kind of worried when archer dailies come since I only have a lvl40 Cu and I don't have any other lancer servants. Do you know the programming implications of that? They would need a very sophisticated anti-cheat program that encrypts all values because even if you force value origin every few seconds, you can still just freeze the value and stop that from happening entirely.
