I bought the things you need to use to add augment slots to items. I assume that mk-8 is the best one, the one that allows you to put the best enhancements/mods/whatever to your gear. I wanted to use them on my lightsaber. I then remembered that there was a lightsaber (antique besh) that I wanted and it already came with four open slots. I bought that, and am trying to resell the mk-8 things, only to realize that I would still be better off keeping them and using them as originally intended. I don't fully understand the gear upgrade system anyway.

So a lot of my friends arent getting this game because they say its call of duty with a star wars skin. I can see this a bit but its still a great game. i had such a blast last night playing and i hope this game doesnt end up like other games do where they have all these different game types and the community dies and only team deathmatch is the only game type that you can find a game.

Level 60 item modifications are just the really cheap ones you can buy off the vendor for common crystals. And those vendors don't sell the augments anyway.
60s are fine for a I-just-leveled-up stopgap, but there are better craftable mods up to level 64, or you could just buy 208/216/220 gear with the better crystals and pull the mods out of those.

You can get 204/208 from the pvp vendor. Anything higher you'll need to get from Operation drops or buy mods from the gtn.

bitraider is the thing which allows you to play the game to some extent without downloading all of it, introduced for F2P plebs to get straight to playing but it's done so badly it keep breaking (usually on patch days) and redownloading the whole game for no reason
if you remove it you have to redownload the whole game, but if bitraider decides to fuck your shit up you'll be redownloading everything anyway so if suddenly your game starts downloading a 10gb file when getting back in for the daily dose, you're fucked and have to redownload everything either way
delete the folder from the SWTOR installation folder and relaunch the launcher, if you don't see a ''ST'' in the corner, shitraider has been successfully removed and you may redownload everything again

After a closer look it doesn't seem like it's really comparable to any other "light-X" weapons, more like a regular sci-fi-ish-like slingshot using some kind of energy as the rubber band, that also shoot energy balls for some reason.
It's the latter part what really strikes me as dumb, at least the way it's presented/designed, maybe if the thing you grab and pull was some kind of circle and the energy pellet was generated from it while it travels forward I could buy it a little bit more. I feel like tank companions during the OP companion period were pretty good. Not perfect at holding aggro, but you could manage and they were nigh unkillable as well.
Yesterday I did a few heroics with a 20 influence tank companion, and not only did I have more enemies focused on me in every fight, somehow my tank comp still ended every fight with less HP than me.
