Hmm. Have you tried rushing it in offline multiplayer mode and just taking as many NPCs with you as you can? Maybe with double attacker role (gear that gives attacker role stacks with picking the role in multiplayer mode) for extra DPS. I assume you're keeping Shiny Hollow or other avatar skills up for when the invincibility runs out? And going after regular HNM, as opposed to ultrahard monsters or something.

Leveling all weapon masteries and getting all the skills, fighting through the free DLC area which ended with a boss fight with Shining Dragon Exeterna, getting all the girls' alternate outfits, going through to the end of that random-generated dungeon (can't remember its name), all that stuff. Be careful, I've heard of stories of people "mysteriously disappearing" after doing these things.
Camera's usually a bit too far away from the characters, and without aliasing they look pretty jagged. the textures on the backgrounds are also pretty low res, but the game is running fine.
the higher DPI on the Vita makes it look a bit better
