Protoss is such a cool race thematically and aesthetically, but they're completely ruined by meme units like the Sentry.
I would love to play Protoss but the Sentry ruins all the fun, they're also the reason protoss is balanced in such a weird way.

just finished the campaign, pretty gud desu senpai. I liked having 3 choices for units from 4 different factions. Plus the story wasn't as shit as I expected, Wings of Liberty is still probably a little better overall but Heart of the Swarm was such garbage, LotV actually improved it (redeeming Duran's embarassing exit, for example). Too many of the missions were based around the whole "There are 3-5 beacons/buildings/whatever the fuck, go to them and destroy or stand by them" literally half the fucking game was that shit, expected a few more go kill this army or that base but nope, fucking beacons shit. Anyway quite enjoyed it.

The things floating around while the ground was ripped out from underneath you was pretty intense, and all those sprouting death pillars from the ground was actually pretty terrifying/difficult. Still a lame choice for a final mission though, but at least one that featured a few certain unique elements and challenges.
I do always hate when they introduce a concept in one level, give you 5 seconds to try it out and go, oh, that's cool, and then never fucking do it again. The thing that always springs to mind is the stealth zerg action in that one HotS level where you infiltrate that protoss ship and you do some Metal Gear Solid shit for literally 5 seconds, and then never again. Plus they were setting up that queen to be rogue and we never heard from her again, but that's more on HotS being unfinished trash. At least LotV feels like a complete game. But back to things I wanted to see more of, zerg cave entrances with rock barriers to cut them off? cool shit, would have been neat to see it again.

Here is my 2 cents on this whole underwhelming terran upgrades/units issue after playing ladder for couple of days now. (clearly not enough, but i think this is a good discussion nonetheless)
Liberators are a great start and adds a refreshing idea of achieving siege through air unit. I think all starport units have unique trait that is more or less used in many games. So we're pretty good with starport units, gj blizz for adding lib.
Cyclones improved mid game and but super underwhelming when it comes to efficiency in late game. Such a lazy stupid design in so many ways. Has 0 synergy with anything and is not unique in any way.
The biggest problem right now is that terran is even more mid-game heavy race than hots and this is exactly what players didn't want. (ALL RACES, not just terran) Terran shouldn't be that op mid-game and doesn't have a reliable late game high tier units. And we all know what terrans did in hots due to this exact issue, terran had to resort to super turtle with mass raven shit in hots which really wasn't about mech being powerful but more about seeker/planetary being good to drag the game on. Every game I been in against zerg (esp since of new ultras) felt like I am under a timer. At the same time, there are so many mid-game op units that I can deploy that sometimes the zerg seems like he/she just can't handle them all. (mines, lib, drops, hellbats, etc).
Another point is that ALL FACTORY UNITS are so fucking clunky and barely have any synergy. Right now, a lot of 'mech' is 3-5 cyclone, hellbats, and lib. Some mix thor and what not, but none of these units complement per se, they are just cost effective units mid-game. I really hope they re-design a unit like Thor/Cyclone or add a new unit to complement the classic mech units like tanks.

Maybe if they made some kind of weird jumping HERC-like mech melee unit... it could've been cool... maybe it would have some kind of trait that would help it shrug off tank shots, so it would synergize decently with siege tanks

They were a mechanical panther unit that attacked in melee but did damage in a small radial burst. They weren't very durable so they were pretty much only good for fighting zerglings.
I'm imagining a very durable mech melee unit that can jump quickly into combat and take a lot of damage, but it otherwise has a slow movement speed and not much DPS. It would basically just exist to shield other, more damaging forces, like tanks and thors
