Why do people think Forgotten Torch will be good?
The only possible use it could find would be in freeze mage, but it's not good even there. It's inefficient removal for its first use, so you'd only run it if you wanted it for more burst at the end. But freeze mages don't have trouble bursting anyone if they can get their combo (certainly not gonna help against CW), and the only benefit of Roaring is that it's a 1 mana cheaper fireball. Not to mention, it takes up two draws in a deck which is the most dependent on getting their draws right.
So you're paying for inefficient removal early just so you can have a 1 mana-less fireball while taking up two draws in the deck that depends on it the most.

Nothing is going to fix ladder, short of an overpowered control deck (i.e. patron). You're complaining about Paladin, when it's not even the strongest deck, or are you completely forgetting Druid? Not to mention Druid is a 3 mana Shredder that they can play in their aggro lists for even more sticky combo minions. All Paladin gets is a win more secret that does nothing. and a meme card.
Hunter isn't a problem if people play control decks like freeze Mane and control Warrior. The problem is, both these control decks eat shit against Druid, who has no direct counters.
Obviously the ladder would be fixed over night if Savage Roar, and Dr. 6 were nerfed to the ground. But, that's not happening any time soon. The most we can hope for is a Dr. 6 butchering 5 months from now, while Druid remains untouched and stealth cancer for another year.

Because for one, Unstable Portal, 90% of the time, nets you a tempo advantage and can outright win the game through not even the slightest form of skill and completely throws player expectations out the window, whereas if you're fighting a mage playing from his OWN deck, you can anticipate what's coming from an approach even if he's getting perfect curve.
Against something like a perfect curve you can at least improvise an answer due to the way that mage is played as a class.
You can't improvise nearly as well against a early Tirion because it's something beyond the normal parameters of a mage. I'd be like if a Druid could randomly shit out good removal—and I mean random in a strong sense here—like say a 2-cost card called like "wild magic" that gave him a chance for a cost reduced flamestrike or some shit; The druid COULD get an arcane explosion out of the deal, but the fact it fundamentally alters how you can anticipate and counter a deck is stupid.
If a mage plays a Ysera from their OWN deck, it's cool and my expectations were beat by him thinking outside the box of a normal mage netdeck. If he Unskilled Portals out a Ysera turn seven I'm fucking furious because the game just randomly decided to reward a player through no real effort of their own.
Even a wisp you can treat as if he used the pally's hero power or somethin, since it brings a 1/1 to the field for two mana, not to mention all the good battlecry cards he can get at a reduced cost. Try and compare that to a more "fair" RNG card with Mindgames, where you have a chance to just get a fucking owl even against a handlock for 4 mana and no battlecry from the deal, and the opponent can anticipate what's left in his deck when you play it, and can answer it in that regard. Unstable is a fundamentally broken card that offers too much and sacrifices too little. I don't consider this whining like I do sometimes when a hunter just faces me, I think seriously effects game design, honestly.

Though it was short, it was really fun. Got rekt hard by heroic djini on my first run. Actually now that i think about it, they all absolutely destroyed me on the 1st attempt. But it only took me 1 more try to figure it out.

I understand your point, but Unstable Portal seriously isn't overpowered. First of all, while it's likely to give you a three mana minion or higher, most minions are shit anyway and are unlikely to synergize well with your deck. While it may give you a rare Boom, it just doesn't happen and ultimately on average, Portal is actually kind of balanced. Mage players can corroborate that there's ten Frostwolf Grunts for every Legendary. Saying UP is broken because of that is like saying that Holy Wrath is broken, because you can draw a Molten Giant. As you said, the problem is that you don't know what to expect, but that's not something that can happen only with unstable portal. People playing weird non-standard decks are often at advantage, because their opponent just doesn't know what to expect.
It really depends on what you expect from Hearthstone. There's just tons of RNG that's unlikely to change. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's fucking bullshit.

With Unstable, however, you're sacrificing nothing from deck design because it's so good or at least decent (and if you're playing casino mage it's actually really fucking good at times due to not only the tempo game, but can buff up your mana worm or that fucking 2/4) that you lose nothing by running two in your decklist and can gain everything with a coinflip. There's sometimes a lack of synergy, sure, but the amount of answers you CAN draw through no sacrifice or alternative deck construction of your own is dumb. If someone constructed a non-standard deck, then I'm actually happy when suddenly a deathwing crashes the board with no survivors.

And especially him being triggered by a fucking coin. Being annoying to play against, yeah, I could understand that. But the game is already mostly decided by the order of cards in your deck and mathematically, Portal can't be that game-changing, no matter what card you get, if you compare it to the influence the first few draws.
