Master this first. Every Slayer masters this one skill before going into PVP. It's cooldown, launch rate, and range. Is literally burned into their heads.

Good old GWL.
Maxed Phoenix Hammer is also a good approach against inexperienced players, but there's many, many ways to counter it so it's not as safe to use later on.
Reaper is also amazing, and you can time a devil strike(C, always C devil strike for that launch) near when the final hit happens in order to launch the enemy, and then you can second uppercut forwards into a combo or spin cutter + devil strike C and start a combo with that as well.
Demon clutch can also work. It's similar to monk's heavenly combo, right down to the fact that it doesn't work on superarmor. But if you manage to sweep an enemy from below you up, just thorns/gwl for an easy combo start.
Juggled to death happens with everyone, but yes, in general, mages other than battlemage will fuck you. AoE is your worst enemy and they just shit that out.
