Jotunns is mandatory, executioners is mandatory, and rage is mandatory.
Having two or more attack speed items isn't mandatory but why not? All you do is basic attacks anyway.
Frostbound isn't mandatory but again, it's a good item to solidify your chase against the millions of dashes, movespeed steroids, leaps, and sprints everyone has (at the same time)
Make sure you web them before boxing and/or while they're running away and walk on the web path. Sprint if necessary against someone fast obviously. Sprint before you ult. Sprint during a gank if they're gonna get away. Sprint if you're tower diving. Did I mention improved sprint is manditory?

The people that actually complain about lots of gods using bows are retarded, this is a mythology game about mythological gods. These gods were worshipped in a time where bows were the guns of their time, and for good reason too. You have to at least respect SOME kind of historical accuracy. There's room to be creative but a lot of the times it just makes sense to go with the bow, the thing they were depicted using the entire time?

7 (8 with Chiron) Hunters use bows. Using your examples of swords, we've got:

The number of all sword users across the 5 classes equal to bow users in Hunters, with Chiron coming out soon, there's gonna be less sword users than bow users.
Bows themselves aren't bad, but some variation would be nice.

Neith needs something with strings on it so if you wanted to go the Appolo route you could give her a harp or something I suppose.

The most curbstompingest match I've ever had in Joust was when I went Ah Muzen Cab and my teammates locked in Ymir and Cabrakan at basically the same time.

Just because everyone's kit has cc doesn't mean you will guarantee get by it. If it was Ares/Xing that'd be different because they could take turns ult, but you can dodge Xings. Athena can pull and let fucking Medusa try and get an ult off, beads that and that's one ult you don't have to worry about. Apparently the "backline" was close enough to kill the whole team, they weren't very far back. If they were really too far back, then since the whole team is here next to Ares about to be pulled they could easily kill him before his ult pulls. They could have also counter ulted, almost every ult comes with CC immunity. Could have also ran, if it was a bad engagement and beads are down you should leave, you have the CC immunity to do that. Can you really not figure this out? There's so many ways to get out of that situation and they did none of them.
