I know Superbeat gets a bad rap around here due to Tomato's literal shilling of the game, but I got an early copy from their stream and figured I'd post my thoughts on it so far incase anyone is interested
Pros
>great soundtrack, lot of variety of genres
>note charts are fairly complex and utilize all the buttons pretty well
>8B mode, unlocked very early (level 20)
>you level up fast as fuck
>songs are unlocked like every other level
>missions are unlocked when previous ones are beaten so no grinding levels to unlock missions
>missions hit 6B at the 4th club, 14 clubs overall with 3 missions each so 126 missions
>missions actually get pretty fucking hard pretty quick
>bunch of different hitsounds, but can also be muted or made quieter/louder if you want
cons
>note charts are less dense than the DJ Max games, despite having good complexity (fewer notes overall, but more different notes and patterns)
>lots of the early shit is actually really easy
>characters are fucking insanely strong (shit like EXP+30%+Anti-Break 19 is unlocked at like level 10) so it tones the difficulty down as well
>no HD/MX charts (from what I've seen, but later 6B and 8B shit is still really hard)
>no unlockable gears or noteskins
>animated backgrounds are entirely generic visualizer stuff, nothing like previous DJ Max games (only exception is Heavy Day)
>no extra modes outside of arcade, freestyle and missions. No Vs. Play or anything like that
57 unique songs. There are also 2 unlockable playable extended versions of songs, so 59 total.
Overall I'm enjoying the shit out of it. It feels like Nurijoy learned from a lot of the mistakes they made with Portable 3, but there's still some missteps here and there. Definitely worth a purchase if you like rhythm games, also a solid game for beginners as it starts out easy.

Operation Abyss is sorta like Demon Gaze but much harder. It is also harder than DT2 and EO4. The dungeon designs is very unforgiving, even the first dungeon you're thrown in.

Which parts exactly are like Demon Gaze? Stuff I didn't like about Demon Gaze was the weird item things where you put things at the altars or whatever to summon monsters with good item drops, having to pay a fee everytime you return to town, and the location of the boss being somewhat randomized.

Getting item drops like that was the coolest part of DG though. It's nice to be able to control RNG a bit and go for the types of item you want. And it felt like a fun way to grind by using your cheap Nameless Gems on those shrines.
The fee isn't a bad feature either, it's to discourage you from getting free heals back in town. But that's less of a problem by using the infinite use healing rod you can buy though.

An example of this (for me) is Senran Kagura. I played Burst and 2 to death but I can't finish Versus cause I find it boring as fuck. Natsuiro High as well. Fanservice alone can' tkeep anyone interested in a game. There has to be more - fun characters, hilarious dialogue, great music, an interesting story and gameplay, etc.
Fanservice is simply a HUGE bonus to what should be an already enjoyable game.

Did I misunderstand "enmity", as it applies to DT2 equipment effects? I want Alisa to get attacked more than the other characters, so I equipped her with TWO "enmity up" items, but the enemy seems determined to attack every other character in my party instead. This has been happening for a while.
Should I be giving her "enmity down" stuff instead, or does the RNG god just hate my guts?

Alisia's ability is 100% useless as a paladin, but somewhat useful for her as a berserker.
The game will always send attacks towards random party members. If you keep up with their gear it shouldn't hurt them much more than your tanks. You need to use skills like Cover if you want to prevent a lot of attacks, although later in the game most are AOE anyway.

I'm starting to get very overwhelmed with the options I have in DT2. Now that I'm starting to get everyone to 30, there's just a lot of choices to go for. Anything that stands The only units I'm not really using are the Scouts because I don't really like their designs.
Anything that really stands out as a class? Right now I'm kind of relying on Alisa as a Valk to do most of my damage clearing because her 3-5 hit skill is surprisingly reliable. Also row aoe seems a bit unreliable since I clear enemies off random rows.

Sure fanservice as a thing isn't bad. If a game is solely based on fanservice as it's only selling point because it has shit gameplay, story and graphics though then what's the point. It's just wasting space and resources. Perhaps encouraging others to be just as lazy when making their games if it sells decently. Imagine how much more enjoyable DT2 would be if it actually had unique art direction, detailed and inspired designs, and writing that reflected that. Fanservice holds back games, but it sells well to japs and waifufags so it won't stop.
