Just be warned that they decided to change the ending to the game and so a lot of the plotlines go nowhere, and there are some problems with the time travel shit.
But it's a game that is really trying to connect with you personally. So it kind of depends on what kind of life experience you bring to it. If it's not something you can really relate to you might just feel like 'meh' or if it hits home it might resonate really deeply for you.
I think part of the reason some people get so pissed about the end is because it did resonate with them, but then they see how flawed the plot is and it makes it really aggravating that something that you want to identify with seems like it's pulling some bullshit with you.

It's not exactly that crazy of a suggestion.
If you choose the "sacrifice Chloe" ending, our Max's consciousness goes back and does the regular Bay>Bae ending. However, the tornado timeline should still exist, and autopilot-Max just takes over from us.
So if you choose the Bay>Bae ending, both endings exist simultaneously in two different timelines. It's just that "our" Max only experiences the Bay ending, while some other Max gets to spend the rest of her life with Chloe.
If you choose the Bae>Bay ending, only the single ending exists. There is no extra timeline in which the town is saved. However, it is "our" Max that get's to live on with Chloe.

I've had that, though not at the moment unfortunately. Also I think it's easy to identify with the coming of age of Chloe and how she gets over her teen angst stuff - a lot of people go through that.

When did Chloe ever manipulate Max?. She felt abandoned and betrayed, because that's what Max did, she abandoned Chloe when she needed her the most. So the first 2 episodes, where Chloe and Max were just starting to reconnect, she acted cautious and passive aggressive, as a defense mechanism to not be let down again.
