1. When you're supposed to go back to Elysia. Sleep at an inn, you'll get a skit about it. When you talk to Rose and one of the options is 'I know what to do about Edna' then you're good to go. If you're on your way to Camlann you should be able to do it now.
2. After beating the game and reloading your clear data, go up the stairs. Before the room leading to the final boss, there's a portal that'll take you there.
3. If your quest log (Rose) is clear then you're good to go. Though if I remember right, you can't actually go past Lastonbell until you at least go to Elysia. Anything that might have been missable has already been missed at this point.

Well, he did do SOMETHING notable.He moved Maotelus from where he was enshrined in Pendrago to the shrine in Camlann. Presumably, he did this because of the growing malevolence in Pendrago/the church, which he saw as a threat to Maotelus. But he never told any of the humans he moved Maotelus, which is what led to Rolance/Heldalf occupying Camlann and Maotelus becoming corrupted.

Sort of. They have invisible numerical requirements. Titles affect the numbers on level up. Stronger titles seem to have more effect if NG+ is anything to go by. With gold titles equipped I had all artes on most characters by the low 30s.

Stahn has dead parents, yeah, but it wasn't a traumatic event and he's in the same game as Leon. Jude only goes through shit during the game, not before. Tales MCs don't tend to have big dramatic backstories about how sad they are, that's reserved for side characters.

I don't know what to blame that on, they throw so much at him and kinda sorta touch on it here and there but never actually show you anything. He does tend to get a little jealous whenever Sorey is dealing with one of the girls so maybe that would have been an element on the two route system, you'd have to juggle two people with emotions going every which way.Muse popping in at the end felt a casualty of the rush job, they didn't put in any of the content leading up to that moment for it to make sense or be super emotional. I'm a little surprised Sorey never brings up his mother either, no fucks given on his part.

There's a lot of stuff that feels like it was cut for time. Edna's quest for example feels like there should have been way more to it, but you pretty much just go back and kill him.
I mean, the beginning of the game there are some neat little things, like the dog chasing lunarre dying if you take too long, the choice of selling the spear or pipe to get enough money to bribe the guard, and choosing whether to fix the bridge or not. Those neat choices vanish pretty quickly.

Lailah explains to you how the journey of the shepherd isn't going to be easy because of how humans will view him, they give you the bridge scene and the dinner with Bartlow then drop the idea completely for the rest of the game. I was expecting to have to deal with that the whole way, making choices and feeling the joy of people praising or the sadness of being treated like a monster.
It would have made a place like Lohgrin stand out a bit more too.

I found it disappointing that there was never a moment like the dinner with Bartlow for the Rolance side. You always have Sergei on your side in Rolance, apparently doing a better job of covering for Sorey than Alisha could. There's that bit with the Cardinal that gets potentially messy, but Sorey never gets called before the emperor or his advisors or anything. Shit, Rolance never even calls him out on helping Hyland in the initial skirmish of the war. Sorey and Sergei just beat each other up, become bros, and that's that.
Speaking of dropped plots, what the hell ever happened with that fake Shepherd asshole? The Rolance guy who went around taking credit for Sorey's good deeds and who threatened Slenge? He just disappears after that.

Well, that's not entirely accurate. I loved the scene on the battlefield when the soldiers just see one person marching towards them and then they get tossed in the air like popcorn. Someone tries to stab him in the back and gets smacked aside. A whole hail of arrows is deflected and even the people Sorey has come to save are unnerved. That was great.

I'm not sure if they ever officially said anything about it but the idea does seem to be supported by looking at a lot of the broken ends in Zestiria. You have a lot of content geared towards eithe Alisha or Rose that ends up not making sense, as if they had to suddenly merge two separate ideas into one.I didn't buy into it entirely until I got to Maltran later in the game, that there sold me on the idea that they did have separate routes for each girl and that Maltran was going to be far more important to the story on Alisha's side. Hell they have her in the opening and a decent amount of official artwork and yet she is completely pointless to the games story and only really appears for a few minutes.

So, I'm playing ToZ and really trying to like it, because I'm a huge Tales fan, even played all the Japan-only ones.
The skill system is fucking killing this game for me. Like, maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like fusion is extremely important in developing your characters, and you have very little control over what skills get transferred or combined into other skills seemingly arbitrarily. Am I just doing it wrong, or is it really, really fucking hard to fuse gear with skills you actually need on it?
Shit sucks because I keep finding gear and never wanting to use it because it fucks up my skills.
Honestly kinda thinking of just saying fuck it and playing Disgaea 5 instead.

You don't really need all the good skills to play the game, just fuse and and stack or line up whatever it is available to you.
Although i do admit that not having the "good" skills triggers one's autism.
And besides, you won't get a very good skill set in your first playthrough anyway, unless you took the time to grind them.

It just bothers me that I get a new sword that's much better than the one I have, then I equip it, and my stats fucking plummet because I lose a bunch of skills.
I wish they at least had it like in Destiny 2 where you could choose one slot to carry over when you fused equipment, or had Normin that you've found sell you their skill as a slot instead of just initially giving it to you once when you find them, which is unlikely to be useful.
Just seems very poorly designed. You're supposed to fuse equipment to advance your character, but doing so fucks with your skills, which is the other big system they tried to emphasize. It's like that have two major systems that you're supposed to use to advance your characters and making use of one fucks with the other. It's very silly.

I'm sure they spent endless hours creating gear for Alisha to use just incase some maniac decided to farm for weeks in the starting areas with her. Even still that wouldn't explain why they would have shops selling her gear throughout the game, shes not going to need a level 40 spear from pendrago when she rejoins later on at level 60.
It's clear she was meant to be around more in some fashion and they just didn't go back and clean things up when they changed it.

You don't need good skills. I beat the game on hard, beat the ex-dungeon, and beat Alisha's DLC without looking at skills a single time. I just used whatever weapon gave me the best stats and fused items to improve base stats
