I usually build it third of fourth item if I'm ahead. Gives you a lot of damage as well as tank. I feel shen without a damage item relies way too much on your teammates, which is solo q is not optimal. I mean i'll go full tank if I'm behind and I'm the only real tank on the team. But otherwise it'll be either titanic, bork, or maybe triforce, though I'll typically only build that as a second damage item when I'm hyper fed.

Wave management is super important when it comes to top lane bro.
What you can do after laning phase is over and split pushing isn't really an option is push your wave past river (works on either side of course).
Do that and group, this will start a slow push towards the enemy's second tower, and now 2 things can happen:
1) One of the enemy's team will come clean it up, in which case you do something out of that.
2) They lose a LOT of minions, like 400+g worth of them, and a similarly big as shit wave will come back to your side of the map and get all that gold.
