Story time
The little Chloe Graham wakes up from a dream... She could travel thru time on it, to the past, and sees a woman called Rachel Amber being kidnapped
Max's daughter mind gets back to the future, it's 2023 already, and her mother and brother are waiting for Warren to come home, which never happens... he disappeared all of a sudden
Chloe and her brother meet Victoria Chase. the head of a company, and her little daughter, Beverly
The relationship between those three grows, and 6 years later, Mrs Victoria Chase takes them to accomplish a mission, taking Nathan Prescott out of jail
They manage to do it with some cash from Mrs Chase company
Nathan is on his own now, no money from the family, no more family, all he's got is the Team: Victoria and Beverly Chase, and Chloe and Warren Graham Jr
To find out about the tornado from 2013 they need to find the main cause, a disappeared man called Warren Graham
Warren Caulfield is not like his sister, he's a sick mind, full of envy, only Chloe could herit Max's power and somehow, making them more powerful, she can send whatever she wants to the past or to the future
Forcing his sister, he manages to travel to the past, to begin his sick plan of kidnapping girls, drug them and take pictures, and becoming a famous photographer that mets his mother when she was a teenager, that mother he hates, the mother that betrayed him by giving powers only to his sister
Then he mets Rachel Amber, who would die some months later because of an overdose.
In 1962, on a cult called The Vortex, Rachel was seen as a goddess, because of that, she's considered special, she is eternal, never ages. In 2013 Rachel is still the same girl that died in the fire in that dark October 10th
Only the fire can kill her, they thought, but they were wrong unluckily
In 1963, the leader of the Vortex Cult, Stacy Marsh, decides to tell her daughter and then her granddaughter Kate, to stay close to the situations involving rachel Amber

By pulling strings, Kate Marsh would be able to force Nathan to do what he does, drugging Rachel, not killing her, she can't die, but as long as she's drugged, she's unconciouss
Thats the safest way to prevent tragedies
Rachel Amber can't die, and she shouldn't live either, a coma is the best way to keep the world away from evil
Kate, following orders from her mother, lets the Prescott boy drug her so she can find out the hidden place where Rachel was, and to gain information without being caught, that way, the Vortex can be sure about Rachel's coma.
When the police, guided by Max, find Rachel's body, they fuck things up so bad, and she can be free again, and everyone knows that would be a catastrophe
The only way to stop this is managing somehow to create a natural disaster, something that's not suspicious, the biggest brain on Arcadia Bay, Warren Graham, is taken as the Vortex scientist to make it happen, but it will take a lot of time, so they need Max.
According a marriage between Max and Warren, and keeping the time travel powers safe by giving them to the little Chloe Graham, is the safest way to accomplish the mission.
Using little Chloe's power to send the tornado back in time, they erase Arcadia Bay from the map, leaving Rachel in a coma underground forever
The unfortunate disappearing of Warren in the future, is keeping The Team worried, only he can create the tornado, and he will, but they have to find him, if not, the history will be altered again, for worse

I don't think Max have been happy with Rachel if they found her alive. While they may have been friends, I think Max would have been pissed at Rachel for lying to Chloe. And I think Chloe would have been equally pissed, especially since Max would be around and Chloe would have something to compare Rachel to and see that she had flaws. Flaws she didn't notice when she clung to Rachel as the only good thing in her life.
