Got into the EU beta yesterday, and my fears are true.
This is basically the FPS version of HotS. As in you can do a lot of cool stuff without even trying and that is fun initially, but gets boring extremely fast.
I'll play a bit more to see if the "strategic aspect" of the game is just as shallow as I thought it would be, because the shooter elements certainly are.

When I was watching the time2reap, the Phlogistinator from TF2 came up in my mind as a comparison. It's easy to stop, easy to fluke, you need good awareness to use it to full potential. But even then, for the Phlog, you still need to MOVE after players, you still need to turn to face them, you can jump and you can switch weapons and prioritize who you want to roast first. And even then, people still shit on it because it takes little skill.
Compare that to the time2reap which just completely takes the control away from you when you use it. To me, it seems dumb.

So after playing a few games without any prior knowledge here are my thoughts:
>turret robot is really annoying
>egyptian soldier was fun to play
>edgelord trenchcoat mctippings was really powerful
>didn't really notice any of the healing effects having much effect on the balance between teams
>tanks looked boring, the roadhog character wasn't that great, apeman was really gay to play against
>widowmaker was really good, I got huge killstreaks with a bit of sniping and moving positions
>I didn't understand the turret builder guy at all but he seemed pretty lame
>white demoman was fun to play
>the ultimates were overall surprisingly fun

A full reaper meatshot does 140. I'm not sure if you can get a full headshot of that, but it doesn't seem impossible. Certainly a damage boosted Reaper can one shot any non-tank class.

If the console port thing is true, then I guess it makes sense since D3 did pretty well on console.
As for the price, if this game isn't F2P or monetized similarly to CSGO then it's going to become the next Evolve. The 60 dollar price point doesn't make sense to me. This is the type of game that screams "Buy this widowmaker rainbow bikini skin only 14.99" :^)

The only damage boosted character in that post I replied to was widowmaker. I do agree a damage boosted headshots from him can kill 200 hp characters if every pellet from the shotgun hits.
