BM ties into Evilcraft, in fact, evilcraft is an interesting way to get life essence (and life essence is a pretty painless way to power evilcraft machines)
BM isn't quite as polished/flashy as thaumcraft, and def isn't as intrusive worldgenwise, and it can provide you some lategame powers thaumcraft can (BM is much better at doing huge area/world changing things last I played)
BM might feel like complete shit to play if you don't figure out how to automate the blood altar, though. You will have to figure out how to keep 1 or a few items in it at a time while keeping it full of life essence. There's various ways to do this, but just a warning if you aren't very automation savvy, it can get tedious at first.

To add, The blood altar is retarded when it comes to automation, you try to hook it up to basic insertion/extraction pipes you just gonna cycle items through, Worse is you have to be careful when using items that upgrade themself when left on the burner too long so to speak.

Mod adds some cool things like being able to place jars sideways, a wisp companion thing, a jar network system that will self-balance and redistribute amongst itself, more golem stuff, also some node modifying shit that I haven't touched yet.

I'm trying to ascend a battletower and something keeps causing a crash. It wasn't doing this with a couple previous towers I went up and it's becoming unplayable with the frequency of crashes.

It's the boss on top of the tower, whenever you get close enough to activate it, it crashes the game. It's the main reason I stopped using battle towers. I'd suggest going and submitting the crashlog to atomic strykers thread on mcf so he can say "it's not my mod doing it, go bother someone else", because thats exactly what he does.

There are some... Ideas in play that could work. I really do like the aesthetics of the multiblocks. and the biodiesel engine is really neat.
