That's where the project was announced and took place earlier this year. Not very helpful. And yeah, I look objectively at critcism. Can't set a date for the completion of the patch. Several hundred UI elements still have to be remade from scratch, and most of the menu related scripts have to be redone in order to make horizontal menus a reality.
These scripts could in theory be copied and pasted into Muramasa to save hours of groundwork, given that it ever gets a project going.

I just can't get into Muv Luv because the beginning is just so fucking bloated with slice of life bullshit, and it's all so uninteresting. So uh, the Muv-Luv official translation kickstarter is 15 hours from ending. I completely forgot about it until now.
Throw $60 at it or not? I'm sure that I remember reading a long time ago that the fan translation isn't actually 100% done, so an official work with some of those translators doing it (am I understanding this right?) would be nice to have.

Muv Luv is pretty good, it's #1 on vndb and around #3 on EGS. Overrated but still well worth reading. People here will tell you to just pirate everything though.

Virtually all VNs that go through Steam (or any non-H distributor really) will have an "unofficial" patch to restore all the content. Technically a pretty good solution since it gets more mainstream exposure without removing content. It is almost in the same boat as lewd TES mods.

For Nekopara, Grisaia, Princess Evangile, IMMHW, you have to drop the entire 18+ version on top of the Steam install. It's not a "patch"
You'll also be seeing localizations that won't translate the 18+ content at all, leaving it up to fans to do it.

A mother&son romance with a more realistic take would be great, but I really don't want there to be any tragedy involved. Realism is good as long as it doesn't put a damper on the enjoyment, which would be the case if you try to portray the most likely outcome of such a relationship. YnS was great as it didn't cross over into being depressing while still having the touch of seriousness that made it so memorable.

90% of the visual novels going put in Japan are either basically a porn game (what they call nukige) or a slice of life (with the occasional sex scene) without plot focusing only on cute heroines doing cute things with a touch of drama at the end (what they call moege). There are even outstanding gems among them, but by nature 90% of them are fairly bad.
So 90% of 90% of the VNs in Japan are probably mindless games without plot and lost of questionable scenes with girls that may or may not look older than 14.

See I don't get Sekai Project. They could easily just explain the situation. The re-release has much higher res art, an increase from 800x600 to 1280x720, but some CGs are cropped for the new aspect ratio, a decision made by the original developer. There, end of story, users can make their own decisions based on that.
But instead they delete all discussions, ban users from posting that talk about it, and put a catch all statement saying "we aren't going to talk about this, doing so will get you banned". How do you fuck this up so much? It shouldn't even be an issue.

And if you'd actually played the games and weren't literally blind you'd most likely noticed huge differences in story contents and overall tone.
