Reign of Kings isn't too bad. It's still pretty damn rough around the edges, but there's a decent amount of depth to it, the default world spaces are interesting enough, and the gameplay structure encourages more constructive behavior than ones like DayZ and Rust while still making PvP a part of the experience.
But no I don't want one. They're at their best if you have friends to play them with, and nowadays you're lucky to find people to voice chat with, let alone buy a game and play with.

Got back into Day Z after about a year off it.
A bit better now. I can see they're making technical advancements and can understand if dev is slower than expected. Generally I'm really enjoying the new changes.
Guns are more common but ammo is now less common. Pretty happy overall

You need to find supplies to stay alive with. Eventually, you need to start hunting animals for their meat and pelts due to man-made food simply running out from the environment and the clothes you have not being able to keep you properly warm.
It's one of the few actual survival games in which your goal is simply to keep on living.

I'm so disappointed in how this turned out, all they had to do was focus hard on zombie AI then go for all the fluff. Instead they just spam add useless shit and that's it.
I really like their map additions too, looks amazing. I would have loved for them to eventually expand the map or make an entirely new one, the map did tend to get boring once you knew every single inch of it by heart.

At this point the genre cliche seems to be to create a bunch of bullshit rules and implausible scarcity to force the player to be constantly treasure hunting until they get bored to the repetition and quit.
