Out of curiosity, I mapped out what scenes are animated. It's laughable that people are singling out the programmers when you see just how much the game is lacking after three years of making art assets.
I mean, the core of the game is making monsters fugg, and the exotic touch, the "wow factor," is combining special traits (like feral and genderswap) for unique monsters. Despite this, there's practically nothing to show for it. Most of the regular cat scenes are done, and that's about it. The male pc's animations are barebones - to the point where he gets none of the exotic scenes.
Pic related - black means no animation, dark green means there's an animation and there's a good chance the colors will match what you chose, and light green means poor chance the colors will match. White means I didn't test it, but the pattern is pretty apparent.
If you are playing a male pc and don't care for the catgirls, prepare to see next to nothing.

Which is why I'm leery of Shwig's project ever coming out, because he's the one who added so many monsters in. Being that he's an artist, I doubt he even realized just how much more work he was adding with every monster, and how fast that rate was increasing.
And considering that he utterly failed to work with his animator last time, I doubt he's going to be able to do it this time. If he sticks to stills he might get it done. But then, this is a guy who cratered a 40k/month project which was paying him personally 9k/month, a sum that some engineers would be jealous of, let alone an artist. I doubt his ego would let him make anything less than his "vision".
This is why you keep artists on a tight leash. They do not know what they're doing. If they do know what they're doing, they'll understand why you're restricting them so much and they'll be able to handle it. It's the difference between owning the right to the character or the derivative work.
Think about it this way someone has the right a said character concept. He hires someone to draw that character, that drawing is the derivative work. The derivative work's right is up to the contract between the employer and the employee but the design will always belong to the design creator.
If Schwig had the rights to the designs he could use them on the new work, he hasn't however, which implies that he only had the rights to the artwork he produced. Meaning any drawing, not made by him, not copying a drawing made by him, but on the same style and of the same characters can be used by Hbomb.

In order to fully animate the game it would have taken 1500+ animations. Keep in mind that it took Vanilly 2-3 days to make an animation, and that she was limited to Shwig's speed.
The game was never going to get finished. It wouldn't matter how big the team got. They were too reliant on Shwig. They could have hired 20 animators - which, working at Vanilly's pace, would still have taken almost a year to animate - and they still wouldn't have gotten it done, because Shwig's art is the cornerstone of the whole project and it's not easy to find people who can replicate it, so they'd be limited, again, to his output speed. And that's all assuming that Shwig wouldn't decide to change the art style again.
The bloat absolutely destroyed the game, and the art redesigns removed any remote chance of recovery. Shwig cratered the entire project. I'm amazed that it turned out this badly. If you go back and play the flash game, it was fucking BETTER than this one. It had animations and the gameplay was basically feature-complete. 3 years of work and 500 thousand dollars later, the game's a piece of garbage, all thanks to one fucking artist.

The problem is that you can't really defend Shwig and openly admit your bias, which, while good and makes you a decent person, also means we should be taking your view on things with a large grain of salt.
The facts we do have now are that Shwig was at least as guilty as H-Bomb allegedly is when it came to working on shit, this from a neutral party who directly worked with them all.
He damn well documented his redesigns. I won't fault him for the fun meme shit or design fuckarounds, but I can fault him when it seems like he might've been prioritizing Kay in a Pepe Outfit over animations. We can also place a lot of blame on him being behind most of the superfluous things, like the pointless minigames.
I mean, I guess I could say I kinda know Shwig too but that's only becausewe ran a couple of missions together in Warframe for Warbros' sake.

The way I took it, she burned H-Bomb because if he knew he couldn't handle the role of Project Manager (and this entire fallout is proof that he couldn't) he shouldn't have been doing that.
