>Le Illuminati are evul meme
As a faggot who picked the Taggart ending in the last game. Why would I want to chase down the Illuminati in this game? they didnt do anything wrong. All they wanted was to restrict augs to not be walking death mobiles anymore. It was Darrow who was an ass and got millions of people killed and the illuminati had no hand in that.
''Illuminati are homos.'' - Bob Page.
>>344848957
What did he mean by this?
>>344848805
True. As we saw from the Brexit vote, people can't make decisions for themselves.
>>344848805
>Le Illuminati are evul meme
wut. Every DE game did a very good job establishing that the Illuminati is good.
Are you some kind of retard?
>>344848805
at least wait for the game to be released before start complaining about thing you dont know
>>344850071
So Jensen is the bad guy? Can't speak much for Denton since the illuminati didnt reign anymore in his era since the MJ12 took over.
>>344848805
Taggart is objectively the best ending
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkj4b7-r4MA
>>344850162
That's pretty subjective. Depends on the choice you made and your personal opinions.
In the DE universe though the Illuminati's goal is only to maintain order and keep humanity moving along okay. They aren't bad guys by any means.
>>344850345
Well every trailer for MD so far has been with Jensen saying ''I MUST STOP THE ILLUMINATI THAT ARE WORKING BEHIND THE SHADOWS AND UNCOVER THEIR EVIL DEEDS''
>>344848805
The Illuminati used subversive and outright violent means to try and effect control, and keyword is try. They were miserable failures who constantly fucked things up then had to cover their tracks.
You're supposed to question the moral and philosophical implications of each organization.
The Illuminati want reign over people like gods without a shred of benevolence to preserve their idea of order. All the while enjoying the latest technical advancements for themselves, restricting what is available to the common riff raff. They're no different from kings who dictate to the people what is law, only they do it from the shadows.
Sarif wants industry to advance at its own pace, allowing cultural issues to iron themselves out naturally. He is driven by profit, but he also genuinely believes that augs will be a net good for humanity, and the technological boom taking place will be worth it in the long run.
And if the Illuminati wasn't fanning the flames by manipulating anti-aug groups all of the issues presented in HR would have been minor.
>>344850071
They most definitely are not good. They maintain status quo.
If you can't tell the difference there then even IW is way over your head.
>>344849972
Slit your wrists.
>>344850535
link?
>>344850345
Agreed.
I thought that illuminati was painted as the bad guy tho in HR. OPPOSITE to the others.
>>344850561
>The Illuminati want reign over people like gods without a shred of benevolence to preserve their idea of order. You're mistaking the Illuminati for MJ12

>>344850581
Anouncement trailer, 101 trailer etc
>>344850734
He never says Illuminati.
And based on how HR ended with Bob Page forming MJ12, it's incredibly likely that's who Jensen is going against.
>>344850345
Yeah but the whole point is that nobody should control humanity. Even if it helps, humanity has a right to destroy itself.
It sounds autistic but that's the message the game is trying to convey, I believe
Everyone knows had MD will go.
>Jensen is convinced illuminati are evil
>bob page is using jensen to bring down the illuminati
>jensen succeeds
>MJ12 takes over like how they are supposed to according to the original game in the early 2030's
The end.

You're exactly the kind of people who's getting manipulated and tricked and yet when people point to the moon, you stare at the finger. Fucking embarassing.
>>344853435
Graphics are arguably better, and soundtrack is orchestrated. Aside from that, it's worse. Levels are scaled down and reorganized, few customers, quests, and scripted events are cut, and load times are longer.
It's still recognizably Deus Ex, but you're better off playing PC.

Models are a bit better, and so is the camera during dialogues. Energy is unified under a single bar, but music is orchestrated.

It also has more augmentations but they only help you break the game further

>they're pretty much the same
No they're not. They're clunky and apparently not as accurate, they make you slow and put stealth as the better choice over combat. The feel is completely different. By denying that you're basically saying that exploring the DX environments and the HR levels is only different in terms of graphics, and we both know it isn't true.
Most of the (few) bad comments about DX (by those who tried, but don't actually finish it) are about controls or IA. There's a fucking army of people that started with HR, simply because it's more approachable. And the reason isn't it's more simple (it's way more fucking hard if you play on max difficulty), it's because the first thing the player feels about the gameplay (so, the controls) aren't fucking shit by modern standards.
>b-but! Fuck you you said it! "Modern standards", you're just a casual!
Anon, the controls of a game aren't ever shit on their own, they can be shit compared to pretty much every other game out there. Ocarina of Time did have amazing controls, but they're old as shit now. Saying "this game really have good controls!" in 1998 was ok. Saying it now is a lie.
Sure thing, you can argue that some games had controls that still holds up today (I would say Quake 3), but it's not Deus Ex' case.
While it's still perfectly playable without fixes (unlike the first System Shock), pretty much anyone that plays videogames today can tell you about FPSs and RPGs with way less awkward controls. That's because we have two decades of advancement in vidya, anon. And if you automatically think that "advancement= casualness", then you're proving me right, you actually got your education by old /v/ memes.

They will do whatever needed to maintain power. That's why they help you in the first Deus Ex, because they're powerless during the events of that game.
If an oligarchy run to benefit the few is good for you, then yes, they illuminati are good.
>>344848805
Play the first game you dumb faggot
>>344851182
I mean, it IS a prequel, unless they are diverging from the main series events, we are meant to end up from the ok-ish world of HR to the absolute shit hole of Deus Ex.
Is the rambo playstyle still going to feel like an afterthought?
>>344867517
I just tried OpenGL and it has the good old problem with the game running faster than it should. Back to DX10 it is.
>>344868416
The only downside about Direct3D is that it's a bit dark and the brightness slider doesn't always seem to work.
>>344848805
>le secret group to control people
>not evil
And how are you benefiting from their control OP?
>>344848805
>As a faggot who picked the Taggart ending in the last game.
You're a faggot if you picked any single ending and stuck with it.
I mean seriously, I like the game and everything but picking the ending was the most pointless and inconsequential thing in the whole story. I watched them all in a row just to see what they were about and that was that.

Oh no! Those evil EU oppressors and their evil regulations on food safety and Roaming fees. If only there were a European Parliament you can directly vote of, and if only the UK had special exceptions and veto power for everything they wanted.
Except there was a Europarliament. And the UK had veto. But who cares, le evil german jew is out, now it's only London who is doing all the privacy laws.
Just to keep it vidya, the average /pol/ browser is the one that doesn't realise the original Deus Ex was literally inspired from all the crazy conspiracy theories and the x-files.
>>344854623OH YES

Braindead leftists are a blight on this world

>>344870998
Blame that anon making it about brexit, I was just replying.
The EU parliament isn't the only institution of the EU, you do know that, right? Brussels eurocrats are a thing.
Oh yes, the poor british need 400 regulations over fucking spoons, that will make everything better!
I never said anything about jews though, it's just leftists and your strawman. If /pol/ knew what they were talking about they would understand jews aren't a monolithic group, there are anti and pro Israel jews, pro and anti abortion jews, anti and pro immigration ones and so much more.
Also Deus Ex had many messages against totalitarianism, the same you'll find in spades at the EU.

Are you serious?
>>344870998
Funny how those "conspiracy theories" came true.
The whole game revolves around censoring the internet. Information control is the grandest of prizes for authoritarians and fascists, it is a very valid concern for both fictional and real worlds.
We even had an episode of our own mini-Daedalus going rogue on her masters, so they had to lobotomize her and make her into Icarus. Shit's scary.
>>344871964
reminds me of the EU wanting to censor the internet

I don't think that's what he means. After Brexit was confirmed to be happening, a whole bunch of people took to social media to say stupid shit like
>I didn't know what we were voting on
>I didn't think we'd actually leave
>I thought my vote wouldn't count
I mean it was monumentally stupid and childish what some people were saying.
>>344871832
>Also tons of young people are retarded
Understatement of the year, I wouldn't trust millennials to run a country
>>344872168
Congratulations, you bought into a fabricated narrative.
If you actually believe that pro-EU propaganda you're truly a fucking moron.
>>344872168
More like people who didn't get their way started throwing tantrums because they have a left wing mindset which is dictatorial in its nature. They started demanding a new referendum straight away. Most of those are also young people who think old people are retarded.
The whole concept of experience is lost on them, also disagreeing with them is also a mortal sin, the nerve of those old fucks, I hope they all die already.
