IMO the run speed should be the default. Or at least start with the normal walk speed and after one second of running it goes automatically into run speed.
Also jumps on the ladders are a bit wonky. Other than that it's a good clone, not much to say about it since it doesn't have mechanics of its own and most people already played mario.

Are you quitting because you only got 12 downloads?
Because that's a bit silly. You only submitted a few hours ago, and literally just before the deadline... it's understandable a lot of people would've missed your game.
That said, the most important part of game dev is having a passion for your own game, so if you actually feel like quitting you probably should quit and start a new project.
If I even get one comment on my game I will be happy.

Nah, I mean, I'll still work on a game, but maybe not this one. It's not necessarily quitting, I worked quickly and got a playable prototype out, and now I can evaluate whether to keep building on it or make another prototype.
Mario Maker is a great game, and I think it might work on PC, but getting a community to grow would require a lot of work on the editor and especially the level hosting, You'd absolutely need to be able to browse and download levels in-game, instead of going to some website. I have server programming skills, but it would be a significant investment.

almost everything has this amount of downloads because it's all stacked up together and no-one can be arsed to get absolutely everything or spend more than 3 seconds browsing this
just work in your own pace and try to get your game the attention it deserves, make it stand out and don't let it be "just another memeday game"

Wingman was an ok ace combat clone. Too shiny and no music. Also the gun was fucking atrocious.
