Only 1 week until release! What weapon will you main this time around? What new monsters are you looking forward to fighting?

It's called monster hunter, not button mashing easy mode made for shitters. I plan on instantly kicking any fucker using either of those stupid styles. Double kicking if they're using a goddamn cat.

you still need some plates and rare stuff, but a lot of items now just have a material cost where you can put in scales/claws/whatever from that specific monster to build and upgrade weapons

Owl is legitimately more difficult.
It has one of the most infuriating enraged states in the series. Nargacuga just hits harder and extends a combo when enraged, Owlfucker confuses you with literally every attack, and most of its attacks when enraged are "Flies at you really fast over and over"

for general utility aerial hammer has almost no downsides compared to guild.
evade works differently is probably the only downside but almost nothing hits you if you manage to get airborne.
charge attack is changed into a very useful upswing that all but removes friendly fire caused by the down pound.
you can do a very strong double hit with great KO in the air if you don't mind having some recovery frames upon landing.
only one art but the one in the demo is fantastic as it usually is charged right around the time you have caused yet another stun/mount

The idea is to abuse the shit out of the roars to get the essences because some monsters' orange essence is a pain the ASS to get (fucking Azure Los), and this helps get the triple essence.
Plus, it's just a bonus honestly, as I was mainly looking for Razor Sharp and a good 2nd and 3rd skill to go with it, and not a lot of options exist in early HR.

SnS's hunter arts are bomb as fuck. There's the roundslash that makes you fucking invincible and STARS AND STRIPES that does great KO damage. Couple that with the exhaust oil and you make the monster see starts all day.

So how do you have a Steve IG if you just got to HR Garuga? You don't fight Steve until Dundorma which is endgame Caravan, and your first Steve isn't til G2 sans the one HR Event Quest.
So I don't know where you're coming from at this point, I'm assuming you're just mad ahead in online guild hall and just farmed with buddies?
Diablos Rod is a better alternative. Much better raw and without the gimmick that's useless on a rapid hitting weapon like IG.
It's your call, it's honestly personal taste at the point whether you want the miniscule raw upgrade or better affinity.

You can consider the Nerscylla glaive with sharpness + 1. Its highest HR upgrade gives it long blue with little white and has as much raw as Altair (although Altair+ beats it), and you won't need to farm any rare materials for it. You do need sharpness + 1 instead of razor sharp though.
And I would say go for critical god.
So when the fuck is G coming out? I checked the times between regular and G releases for the previous installments and it should've been at least announced by now...

Bow has two different control schemes, switching around what X and R do. It's a small change but it makes a world of difference. Maybe the default control scheme is different for the two games.
I feel no need to switch from lbg/sns. I have out grown GS, I didn't really get into GL, and I haven't touched hammer since 3U.

Steve appears at 9 Star Caravan, and Garuga appears after Steve, because then you unlock Black Gravios, which then unlocks Azure Los, which then unlocks Garuga. 9 Star is fucking High Rank, and it's not even at the halfway point for High Rank. What the actual fuck are you smoking?

Altair has the same amount of White as Shadow Walker, though. It isn't even affected by Sharpness +1, and with Razor Sharp it should definitely last longer in White than Shadow Walker. And White Sharpness is honestly way more attractive right now than Blue. Not only that, but I already have Altair.

Depends on the weapon. Striker SnS only loses its charge attack and has really good hunter arts to abuse. Aerial and Adept work wonders for bowguns, and Adept Bows are absurdly good

Running out of coatings is the problem. In an offline hunt or a group hunt the monster will die before you run out. In the real game, you can bring coating combine materials for those long hauls. In the demo you're stuck with what you have.
I was able to completely solo the online Malfestio but it took over 24 minutes despite consistently landing as many shots as my stamina would allow. I thought I wasn't gonna make it.

Otherwise Destiny's Arm (Crimson Fatty) is usually used with the Limiter Off for your general use Pierce gun, or Livid Griscannon for Normal shots regardless of limiter setting which is subjective. I have 3 of them at different firmwares. One at current firmware, one at 9.9.0-26E, one I mucked about with a few years ago and have a gateway card for which is at 8.0.0-18E and GW3D 9.9.0-26E
I never fucked about with custom firmware outside the gateway so you're SoL if it requires that.

also you should do that with a normal game to get a custom header from it so u can play .3dz files online so you dont get banned.
3dz is a 3ds file that you injected a header on then changed it to 3dz so the card will recognise its new header

Yes, Capcom doesn't seem to have any intention of balancing it properly.
They see it as a support weapon and you pretty much have to be using AuL in a group of 4 to be contributing as much as other weapons.
