You can, but it's not easy for a first playthrough. good psi spells are mostly high level, the ones you start with are alchemy (this sucks) and polycloning (p. good). Even the high level spells, while really good at taking out single targets, aren't a whole lot of use against large groups. Basically you shouldn't think of being a "psi character" or a "cybertech character" -- the game is about shooting things and you should use psi and cybertechs as support for that and not expecting them to carry you.

I just recently picked this game up and I am confused as fuck about how death is suppose to work in this game.
So I died many times in a certain mission and with each death I noticed I had some decreased stats. But eventually I died so much that I got transported back to that dream lobby room where a guy said my experince was all a dream and foretold your future death and that I should avoid it. My stats are now back to normal after that experince.

Campaign servers are invariably a giant clusterfuck. Everyone shares a pool of lives so they turn into a mad dash to kill everything in sight and gain max brouzoufs before little Timmy falls down the old well five times and then its deja vu, that weird dream again! and that's IF everyone on the server isn't trying to kill each other.
It can be fun to play pubbie campaigns but I think one of the strengths of the game how it's initially very slow and atmospheric and then, by making your legs ok, you break the entire world over your cyber knees. Play solo to start.

It no shit takes about 15 minutes. I have no idea why the fuck it is in the game, there's nothing to fight or talk to, it's way longer than the obvious path, and you're crawling the whole way.

Its pretty handy to carry around alongside a heavier gun like a sniper rifle or a shotgun (and if you are carrying a shotgun, the motra works as a long range/accurate-ish gun).

Fed route is more adaptive and stealth based, hard to make random missions from.

All I know is when you purge the Jian temple, there are only Jian there and when you fight Rimanah there are only Culters there fighting you.
Perhaps they have an 'exchange student' program or allow other secreta to temporarily rebase between missions. Though there is an aspect of both cooperation and competition since Rimanah sends you on a mission with a Jian contact yet requires you to disguise yourself as one for another.
The implication is there perhaps thatwhen Rimanah openly attacked the Jian he must have pulled back the culters from the jian temple first and slaughtered the Jian staying in HQ

Some jian soldiers carry them, not sure if it only happens on the higher difficulty levels though.
And even if you picked one up, you wouldn't be able to get ammo at the armory, nor get a new bear killer if you lost the one you got, so the best bet is really to save up and buy it.
You can earn cash fast by either farming deus exes on mars, or farming new eden on ghost difficulty (you will risk getting quite a few fatal wounds though).

As far as things go, the jians and culters used do be best bros, but fallen apart for some reason and started a secret war between the two. The conflict died down a bit due to the war between both of them vs. the federals.

Clones don't give you XP, so you'll be underleveled AF if you rely on them.
