Augmented Reality game created by the same company that made Ingress. THIS IS NOT A FUCKING TRADITIONAL POKEMON GAME, SO STOP BITCHING.
>Gameplay
Wild Pokemon roam the real world, and you catch them by throwing pokeballs at them (not battling them). You have to actually go outside and walk around to find them and you cant just sit on your fat ass at home and expect to get them all. Currently there are only 150 to catch (Kanto region)
>Pokemon
Starters dont mean shit, you can catch starters roaming the wild. Types of Pokemon unlock as you level, so dont be expecting to find a zapdos right off the bat. you dont have to be in the middle of the fucking Alps to get a legendary since they unlock as you level up. You can literally can catch a Mewtwo taking a psychic shit in your toilet or crawling out of your dirty swamp ass stained boxers.
>Pokestops
They use Ingress portal data. You use to be able to submit portals to google to be put in the real world, and now you cant anymore due to backlogging on googles part. All the pokestops you see are things that were submitted by people in Ingress. Pokestops cant be accessed if you're far away from them (aka driving by one too quickly will keep you from spinning it)
>Parks
game considers mostly all parks as "Tall grass" areas. Pokemon spawn out the ass here.
>Gyms
You can capture a gym by putting a pokemon on it, defeating the current rival pokemon, or replacing a friendly pokemon with something stronger. You have to be in range to use one, but you can look at one from a distance. Controlling a gym with a pokemon will grant you "Defender points". Defender points grant you Stardust and coins (its the shield icon in the shop page), and it has a 24 CD. Controlling more gyms will give you way more Stardust and coins.

See that grass fling up randomly on the map? That indicates a nearby pokemon. The steps icon under a pokemon silhouette/icon indicates how far away it is (1 step close - 3 steps fat away)

You get 3 candy per pokemon you catch and 1 candy per transfer. You also get stardust from catching pokemon. Candy and stardust is used to level/power up pokemon. You can level a pokemon once you power it up enough (filling its CP - Combat Points meter). Poke stop will give you pokeballs (normal, great, ultra, master), Health items like potions and revives, premium cash shop items, and eggs

Dont be retarded and use incense while sitting on your ass. You'll attract like 2-4 while not moving in a non-park area. Lucky eggs are a new players best friend.

I just keep restarting the app over and over while sitting on my ass at home and catching Pokemon, Pokemon will spawn randomly once you load up. Just keep in mind the servers are shit right now so you might not be able to get back in.

You tab on opposing pokemon till it dies, You can Swipe side to to side to dodge attacks. Holding down own pokemon will release ultimate (When meter to the side is full). Downing opponents will lower the prestige on the gym and eventually cause it to boot the current leader.

Don't know if they ever vanish or switch places with other Pokestops, but they should stay in the same spot

It's possible that Pokestops with bad images, description or location (like, on private ground, indoors..) might vanish, but they generally should stay and stay in the same place as well.

My house is a gym as well, and my private property extends so far that it's almost impossible to interact with it without crossing the line.

Not sure what training at one does yet. I think it increases the gym's "renown"? Which I think is it's HP.
