It really isn't. It's got prettier visuals for sure and I surely appreciate the way you can just... turn blocks into walls by placing them in the back, but the core gameplay of Starbound is so lacking that it just doesn't live up to a game with a fully realized and varied progression that isn't simply based around tiers that are accessed the same way each time.
I've said it time and again. Starbound has a lot of potential. It has potential to become better than Terraria, but it fucking squanders it at every opportunity.

Minecraft but you can build space ships along with bases. Traveling between planets and strip-mining them along with asteroids is mostly what you do other than fighting some npc pirates occasionally.
I love it but there's not a lot to do atm but build ships or bases or giant penis shrines all over the place. Pretty comfy if you choose the right multiplayer server that doesn't have a high asshole concentration though.

It really is not difficult. It's more just "i build a bad factory at first but then build a good factory later." the factory building itself isnt hard, it's getting the layout right that is hard, but you definitely dont need to do that first, second, or even fifth try.
Building the factory is more just mindless build build build increase increase increase, but often with light puzzle elements and resource management elements in terms of getting things where they need to go, but that's really simple unless you go hardcore.
Try the demo! But if you liked minecraft technic pack, or one of the other analogs, you WILL love factorio.

See, this is the thing that confuses me about pretty houses that people make. Sure, they look nice, but you don't have a conveniently close stock of chests, or have enough room for all the NPCs. Doesn't that get really tedious when you need to clear out your inventory, or craft shit? And do you just make seperate houses for other NPCs all over the map? Seems like a pain to move back and forth.

There's a few depending on your likes. Personally, just driving around GTAV's Los Santos is comfy. Put on a good podcast or playlist and life is good. It's pretty underrated in that aspect, rockstar did a good job at making it all feel alive that it's almost somewhat of a shame most just see the series as a wank and blow em up simulator.
Lately I've also found comfort in the Long Dark. Canadians actually did a pretty good job on it, even though the climate is so harsh, you find these nice homes, caves or rooms that really brings your comfy up to a maximum level.

I feel obligated to point out that Terraria Otherworld is not being made by the same people as Terraria. Redigit is not working on it at all. It's entirely made by the people who did Terraria's console/portable port (and if you've played any of the new content in those you'll know why that's a bad sign).
They've also announced it will focus on "Tower Defense mechanics". Which does not inspire optimism.
I'm not saying it CAN'T be good; we'll have to see when it actually gets released. But at this point it's naive to hold my breath.
